Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nothing really to complain about ... the exterior hallways could use some refreshing but I think that is likely more about the heat/weather. That said, the lounge, bar, and rooms were clean, tidy and fresh.
The staff was great - friendly and helpful with recommendations for local things to do and places to eat. It's a great location for walking throughout downtown Raleigh. Very fun vibe as an updated motor lodge. The cocktail lounge was well-provisioned with a nice patio. Free and easy parking ... it's a motor lodge!

There weren't many amenities besides the free coffee and paid bar in the lobby, but that's fine since there is so much in the neighborhood. The room was small but suited our needs.
The staff was lovely. It's a cute hotel and they made sure we were comfortable. We also liked the vibe of the lobby/bar. This is a fun kitschy hotel centrally located for our needs.

Walls are very thin, so there was a ton of noise in the hallways that prevented good rest. I requested a quiet room, but was put in a room that next to the stairwell door, which frequently slammed shut.
The lounge was a great place to hang out with friends. Loved the vibe and the decor. I loved the design of the rooms as well.

Truly wasn’t even a big thing & totally out of anyone’s control - traffic noise when sitting outside. The atmosphere MORE than makes up for it!!!! I feel petty even mentioning it.
The staff was super friendly, in a genuine way, not because they had to be for the job. The decor was EVERYTHING!! So swank & fun! Oh, and the cocktails were on point!

Standard 12 checkout time, awesome lounge, great coffee and staff, comfortable beds and rooms. We could walk anywhere in downtown within 15-20 mins. Hotel definitely goes above and beyond. Will be back.

Noisy. Rooms are not well sound insulated from hallway and exterior noises. Bed was uncomfortable. Additional charge noted on my credit card, and calls requesting info were not returned. filed a dispute with the insurance company to get an answer.
Did not eat breakfast at the hotel, but the coffee was good. Staff at front desk was pleasant and helpful. Very conveniently packed ice in bags to take to the room.

I'll always prefer a hot breakfast option instead of cold stuff but not a dealbreaker by any means.
Super stylish everything: the interior decoration, the signage, the hotel merch and branded items were all lovely. I really dig this style of modernized motel-type spots and this one was one of the best I've been to. What lovely staff; wish I could stay and chat all day and night!

I couldn't tell what in the room was complementary or not, so I simply didn't touch or open anything they provided. The furniture in the room was kind of old. The walls are relatively thin so I frequently heard other guests in the hallway.
Cute decorations, lobby is nice, area is very walkable, and the staff are very friendly. It was convenient and easy to access. It's basically a motel but with the rooms facing an interior hallway, and it felt safe.

It was a bummer the ice machine was out of order but that’s life and things happen. Not a dealbreaker:)
I like picking places that are “different”. You guys offered cool snacks and drinks. The bathroom was clean and the housekeeping staff did a great job of paying special attention to their job, including even making a cool design on the bath tissue. (I didn’t have cash with me to leave for them and I always make a point to do this but I promise I will make it up to them next time if you will tell me who cleaned room 36 so I can take care of them, please!! Real talk, please. You have my email.)

This was a very comfortable little hotel. Helpful staff. Love the filtered water in the main area so I could refill my water bottle. Loved the Malin + Goetz amenities in the room. Perfectly cozy.

My room was directly above the bar so it was noisy, but only until closing time which is as to be expected The room did have a strange smell that I couldn't place. As with most smells I got used to it quickly but it was very noticeable every time I returned to the room
