We opted for the penthouse suite, so our expectations were high as far as the type of luxury that we have experienced at other hotels and resorts. We were really disappointed with the view from our room, the quality of the bedding and furniture and the elevators. The view was overlooking the rooftop of another buildings ventilation system. The sofa in our room was stained and the pillows for the extra bedding had a sour mildew smell. The second bathroom shower spout was broken but the front desk sent engineering up right away to fix it. Finally, the elevators were a complete disaster. One of the elevators were out of order upon check in so the line to get on the one that was working was long and frustrating.

The location was great. It was convenient to restaurants and major attractions. The bell staff were exceptional. A major shout out to Jesse and Anthony. They really made the experience at this hotel worth the price of the room.

Great location - excellent access to the Upper East and Upper West sides of Manhattan. Room was comfortable, clean and big enough for our needs as an older couple here for a celebratory weekend. Member's Lounge was a nice spot for a late night drink. Great service from the Concierge for luggage storage and help getting a cab to depart.

We booked a room with a bed and a sofa bed for our toddler. When we got to the room the sofa was in the regular condition so we called the front desk to send someone to make the bed. They said it’s a $40 extra payment to do that, or we can do it ourselves. I have NEVER encountered something like that anywhere else. We have been traveling across the country for a month now, and no other property charged us both for an extra bed, and for making it. That’s just greedy.

The location was perfect! Walking distance to so many places and multiple metro options close by. The one bedroom suite with two bathrooms was very comfortable for three adults. The decor might be a bit outdated, but I see it as a part of the charm rather than inconvenience. Everything was perfectly clean and neat, and the staff attentive and helpful. Overall we had a great experience at The Manhattan Club and would repeat and recommend.

The bathroom was starting to show signs of the wear and tear of time, but it was clean.

We booked a corner suite for 3 of us and it was a great size. It had a kitchenette that included a dishwasher and microwave (the microwave popcorn was a nice little touch!). It had everything you'd expect, hairdryer, ironing facilities, toiletries. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived early, checked in, and were invited to use the club room where complimentary teas, coffee and water were available. The location was perfect, just a short walk from Central Park. All in all, I was happy with our choice of hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The aircon fan was adjustable (high-med-low) but when we adjusted the temperature (cold-med-warm), no change in temperature happened. A cold air draft coming from the aircon outlet just over the bed didn’t make it too easy to sleep. Switching off the aircon was no option.

Hotel staff was very kind and helped us with a particular request (one of the guests stayed 1 day longer than expected) without extra charges. Hotel position was absolutely great with the subsway stop at 3 minutes walking. Walking distance from Times square and other sites of interest. Our room was pretty clean.

The lobby is a little dated and plain, and there aren’t enough elevators.

I wouldn’t call this a fancy hotel, but I got super lucky with a very affordable rate on a junior suite. Mind you, I spent less than 9 hours in the hotel between a late dinner and an early morning meeting. But the cost to value was exceptional. The suite was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the staff were helpful.

The room in reality was not as nice as in in the pictures. It was old, cold, not very clean. The windows were dirty so it was not pleasent to look at the city through them. It took them over a week to return us our deposit.
