Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe Patrician was the highlight of our three week trip. Great location, views, comfort, breakfast. Everything was excellent. But best of all was the owner, TJ. He made our visit memorable. Great Stories. Great service. I highly recommend considering this place when you visit Pasadena.

United States of AmericaAmazing location!! The view of LA and the beautiful landscaping and historic house are really special. TJ is a very friendly host full of stories that he’s ready to share and is also a great listener. He also has good suggestions for things to do if you are new to LA. The Zen Garden room was very cozy, comfortable and unique. The bathroom was absolutely spotless with a lovely pine tree view while showering.

United States of AmericaWe were 100+% excited by our stay.
TJ is an amazing host -- friendly, solicitous, respectful and a great conversationalist who doesn't impose on you. The location has beautiful views, high over the LA basin yet a fast and easy drive down to all the attractions of Pasadena. The house is both beautiful and interesting.

United States of AmericaNothing.
The Guest House at the top of the mountain is exceptional. Spectacular views across the LA basin; great sunrises and sunsets. The rooms and linens are very nice and our whole experience was top notch. We came in for the Rose Bowl. The Patrician wasn’t just a nice place to visit for a few days. Our hosts were able to help us navigate around LA to the great sites and gave us special treatment for the Parade and parking for the Rose Bowl. We had a wonderful time mingling with our hosts and the other guest who spent the weekend with us. TJ and Jorie (the owners) were present and engaged in just the right way throughout the stay…

United States of AmericaThe breakfast. It could be less sugary and a bit more protein-rich.
The view, the coffee, and the overall experience. The host is great, the property is really nice and the backyard is wonderful. So much to look at and observe. A great place to relax and even work.

United States of AmericaFantastic! The converted home to hotel/ bed and breakfast was superstar. Our host TJ took care of us like we were family. I can not recommend more highly. From the time I arrive with a lemon martini to the lovely bed room and bath, amazing breakfast TJ elegantly prepared for us ( he is a chef, although he disputes this). The grounds and lovingly restored and decorated Santa Barbara style home built in 1928 was a complete treat! Can't wait to go back!! 10 Star

United States of AmericaWe loved everything about it.
The property is a gorgeous 100+ year old home located in a secluded lush hillside, quite, upscale neighborhood in Pasadena. It’s feels like you’re far away from the hustle and bustle, yet it’s just a quick drive down the hill to Old Town, the freeway, the Huntington Gardens & Library, the Rose Bowl, etc. The views are spectacular. There are places to sit outside and take it all in. You can mingle with other people, or find a quite place to be alone. It’s so peaceful and tranquil. We stayed only one night, but I felt as rested and rejuvenated as if we stayed the whole weekend. The living room is stunning and appointed with all kinds of interesting artifacts and decor. The fireplace and obviously the historic tile floor are noteworthy and even more stunning than the photos indicate. We stayed in the turret room with the twin beds and private bathroom. The beds are nice, and the room and bathroom were spotless. It was a very hot weekend, but the air conditioning worked great and we were always comfortable. We had everything we needed. What really sets this place apart is the host, T.J. He is professional and communicative with questions/booking/billing, etc., and the friendliest, most hospitable, generous, interesting person you’re going to meet in a long time! T.J. Is the consummate host. He knows exactly how to make you feel at ease and comfortable. He provides you with all the details and information you need without overwhelming you or giving you a long list of instructions. The real treat comes when you’re settled and he welcomes you with some refreshments. He is so engaging and personable—just an incredible conversationalist. He is open, warm, curious, brilliant, knowledgeable and great at facilitating interactions between guests, yet he knows how to let you be, giving you your space and privacy as well. This may sound like an over-the-top review for just one night, but that’s a testament to how much The Patrician and T.J.

SwitzerlandOur room has not been the biggest, and the furniture is a bit older. But everything was very clean, and in comparison with the strong sides of The Patrician, these were only minor issues.
The Patrician is a unique place. You need to have a car to get there, but once you are there, you have an incredible view and very quiet and safe surroundings. Most important about The Patrician is TJ, the owner. He runs this place with love and dedication, is always there if you need support, prepares a wonderful breakfast, and is one of the best hosts we have ever experienced!

United States of AmericaThe parking was a bit awkward. The zen room would have benefited from a fan to circulate the air during the heat.
The breakfast which included fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious. The patios had comfortable places to sit and enjoy the views. The stairs to bedroom and private bath was easily accessible. It was interesting to talk to the owners.
