Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

They happened to be hosting a conference while we were there, and so the foyer and coffee shop were very busy at times, although this didn't really impact us.
A great hotel set in Downtown Portland. The rooms were comfortable, everything was clean and the hotel facilities were great. The rooftop bar has great views over the river and across to the mountains.

Lack of parking but thankful you had valet parking. Worth the extra price.
It was only two blocks from the Keller Auditorium. Beautiful facility. Staff was great. Room was perfect for us. My son kept saying it was such a nice “fancy” hotel. Coffee shop inside and restaurant. Pool area was nice. Wish I could had taken in all the extras (rooftop, sauna, etc).

Hilton honors does not match rates. This brings down all the hard work the hotel staff does. They are great. Hilton honors is a waste of time
Hotel was great. Hilton as a company is hard to deal with. They don’t match rates. It takes hours to attempt to do so. But they just hang up on you. This is a great hotel. But dealing with Hilton on the phone makes me not want to stay here again. Which should not reflect on the hotel itself. But it does. When Hilton gets cheap about matching rates and plays games with you, it’s just a turn off. Again the actual hotel staff is great. Hilton honors seems to be a full on scam

I didn’t like not having a smart tv with access to streaming services. The tv was super limited. The menu at the room had the wrong time of service and I was unable to get food during part of the day. It was very frustrating. The room that I was in had an issue with the bathroom sink. The water was almost not available. Super week. Only 1 elevator working. Could have more since the place has 4 elevators in total

Used the pool once but multiple families were in there a quite a few with younger kids who had zero respect for others. Jumping into the hot tub where adults are relaxing.. screaming at the top of their lungs, cannon ball right as people are entering the pool. I get being kids but time and place. Used booking.com and it was booked “breakfast included” just know that is not a thing with this hotel.

The explanation of how the paying of breakfast worked. Also there was no map or information about where the pool was. Of course we can ask, but it seemed odd to have that info available without asking.
The hotel was very clean and the location was excellent.

The room needed a little bit more attention when being cleaned. There was dust on quite a few surfaces, noticeable... not just a little. The frosted glass doors in the bathroom were not cleaned very well either, there was hair in the shower, and the conditioner dispenser was not even there.
The breakfast was good.

I wish they had another restaurant option, but I enjoyed what was there. Bathroom door design was terrible since they didn’t close all the way (sliding farm style). Especially for staying with a partner.
Hotel was nice and we really enjoyed the rooftop bar. The coffee, tea and snacks available in the store downstairs was great as well. Location was pretty good. Able to walk or take short uber ride everywhere we wanted within the city. Corner room view and space was nice.

I paid in advance for breakfast. They have me a $15 credit instead of breakfast which buys a cup of coffee and an orange juice not breakfast. This is a bit of a con and spoiled an otherwise excellent stay

Now the breakfast needs some sorting out on the website. Booking .Com said breakfast incl. young man serving us said we only had a $15 credit. Luckily you had two wonderful front of house staff on this morning Jason and Ben and they resolved the matter professionally and quickly which was appreciated Only other comment the breakfast room was quite cold with the A/C

Rooftop bar service… there’s an employee before you walk in to check IDs he didn’t communicate with us at all. So we stared at him thinking he was gonna give us menus or take us to a table or give us information like seat yourself.  Once we picked a spot we waited 20 minutes for water and a menu. Our waitress then ID us again which made me think what is the point for the guy at the door to be standing there if they are just going to ID is when we get seated. Then another 20 to 30 minutes to be checked on after our drinks came/ finished drinking them. Not the best experience at the bar. The view was pretty amazing but with the service plus how expensive our two drinks were (one drink each) it’s not worth it.

The whole Portland area is full of drugs users. It was a shock for our kids! Be careful at night
