Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

good location with streetcar 12 transport just in front of property, 24:7 check in, very nice and helpfull staff, 4 bed room with ensuite shower, complimentary breakfast, good value for your money! tuesdays jam sessions- big smile

One of the maintenance guy has some attitude issue, grumpy and not nice at all to the guests.

Overall staff members were beautiful, helpful and polite. I pretty much enjoyed everything so far. A great place to party, have fun and meet people. Changes in prices but that is an unfortunate theme for all hotels and hostels in every state.
Comfort, peace, lovely guests, respectful workers, close to everything and convenience. Nice breakfast included, quiet room and great overall price. Downstairs excitement, live entertainment and great company.

-The bathroom was attached to each room. I wish there were shared ones so that one won't disturb roommates late at night or early in the morning. -A curtain to the bed can be very helpful. -A curtain to the bath can be very helpful, preventing the water from splashing everywhere. -I hope the elevator can be fixed soon so that carrying luggage won't be a struggle anymore.
-There was a simple breakfast available. -There were activities at night like Happy Hours, Dark Market...etc. It was very interesting. -The street car station is just opposite, very convenient.

Not enough tables in the bar dining area. Just need one more. The elevator was broken. Made bringing luggage up a bit treacherous. Also a flat sheet between the comforter and fitted sheet would have been nice. The card key wouldn't work. Kept having to replace.
The location was perfect, especially being adjacent to the street car and food outlets. The people were friendly and warm. No hassle checking in and out. The room was nice. No frills, comfy. The bed was just right, not to hard or soft and the linens were clean and fresh.

They didn’t have any tea or bagels that day which was a shame and the pillow was a bit lumpy
The staff were amazing and for the price it was great and comfortable and the facilities were clean and great. The breakfast was also pretty good with croissants etc

There is no parking belonging to the building so you have to park on a dark street about half a block away. If you’re booking by yourself there’s a chance you’ll have a room mate, not sure if there’s any ways around this however.
The property has lots of character, very cute and clean. No food is allowed in the rooms so no worries about bugs. Rooms are clean, updated, and spacious.

They took the towel the second day, but didn't replace it, I realized only when I already was in the shower.

I've stayed at the Quisby before, so I knew what to expect and the things I like are still great. However, there were a couple of staff members who basically ignored me (I don't know if this is the case with all the guests), and by ignoring I mean not responding to good mornings or anything. I got the feeling that I'm just annoying them. I don't request much really, but I'd like to feel that I'm welcome. Most of the staff is nice though, and I still recommend the Quisby.
Good, quieter location, if you don't want to stay in the busy French Quarter. It is however within walking distance from the FQ, or there is the St. Charles streetcar right in front of the hostel. Nice building, ensuite bathrooms in dorms, complimentary breakfast.

Very comfortable bed with a light, charger and a little shelf for a personal belongings right next to my pillow. Big roomy bathroom with a bathtub as a part of the room for four loggers. Helpful and friendly staff at the reception.

I've never paid that much for one night in a hostel, even in the US and I've stayed at another hostel in New Orleans in the past. Maybe it's just the current market but the nightly rate should be more affordable.
There's a bar on site with great local craft beers. The staff was friendly and offered local recommendations. They even gave me a brownie with a candle and free drink for my birthday. Also, they held my bag securely for the day after I checked out. Well done!
