Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe room service is optional and you have to ask for it. When we did ask for our trash to be emptied after the second day it wasn't done.
It's a lovely hotel with a very friendly staff. The rooms are a great size and the full kitchenette is a great addition. Foggy bottom is such a lovely neighborhood to stay in DC. Walking distance to Georgetown and DuPont circle makes it an ideal location to explore the city.

IrelandNo bar for a drink at night and nothing in the area either.
Very spacious comfortable room and the kitchen was very handy to have. The hotel is in a quiet location about a 10 minute walk to the Lincoln Memorial/National Mall area. If you don't want to walk there is the Metro and buses close by or an Uber/Lyft is around $10.

SpainSome parts of the room/hotel are quite old, like for example bathroom. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as it is charming in its own way.
Excellent location, quiet and pleasant neighborhood. The train station for the hospital is 4 min walking, which is very convenient. Main city attractions and very close, and you can go walking there. The staff working there was very nice and helpful.

SwitzerlandI recently stayed at The River Inn in Washington, D.C. for two nights, and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, making me feel welcomed and valued. The room I stayed in was impeccably clean and well-equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's location. Nestled in a charming neighborhood, it was conveniently close to major attractions and the Metro. The River Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Washington, D.C. and looking for a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and exceptional service. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to the city!

The hotel is in a beautiful location, our rooms overlooked the street. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThe air conditioning at night was a a bit noisy but I got used to it. The wi-fi could definitely be improved as it kept dropping out.
Helpful and friendly staff that go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Large, extremely clean rooms with everything new and spotless. Quiet peaceful rooms with a nice view and I appreciated having a kitchenette. The area was convenient for Georgetown and other parts of the city too. Overall very happy with our stay.

United States of AmericaThe bathtub needs a grab bar for safety. Also, a note in the bathroom that bar soap is available at the front desk would have been nice.
Loved how close it was to the Metro stop. Loved the closeness to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Loved being able to have breakfast in the room. Loved buying wine and having it in the room. Loved the staff.

Neighbourhood is fantastic, real old Washington with small houses, so finding such a nice hotel comes as a real surprise. Rooms are spacious and quiet, staff friendly and helpful, no matter how many people there are at the reception desk.
