This place just needs a little TLC with some of the amenities (at least in the room we stayed in). For example, some of the bathroom paint was peeling, couch cushions were a little dirty, etc. That being said, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. It was a great property with a family feel to it. Thanks!

Faucets in bathroom and shower need to be repaired as they would slip to turn on water. Pool needed to be cleaned up as over use had it very cloudy.

very limited parking in front of the hotel. Had to walk a few blocks for the majority of parking. Have been to other facilities that were just as aged, so did not expect the newest and best conditions, however maintenance/condition of the courtyard and rooms did not meet my expectations. Similar facilities (age/size/price) in Sarasota last year were much better maintained. Courtyard area needs some attention as did the condition of rooms/appliances.

kitchen was small,, would have liked a larger refrigerator. a stove top or stove would have been nice. had to buy all premade food during our week there. also stocked very poorly, no coffee mugs, 2 glasses 2 bowls had pots and pans but no stove. there was a microwave and toaster.

Futon in living room needs to be replaced...could hardly sit, let alone sleep on it. Thank goodness we did not need to! Right on the beach in a nice area. Minimul close parking (but they did have a lot down the street to park in). Minimul kitchen utensils-they need to go to a thrift shop and stock up on better plates, cups, utensils etc.

This is a very old hotel(but they're trying). The beds were comfortable, the place was fairly clean. Close to the beach. Nice pool area but did not use it (very cold day that day). Stayed two nights.

Bathtub looked dirty. Maybe it was stained, but still gross. Wouldn't use it. Also, coffee maker still had water in it. Tried running water through it and rinsing it, but it came out with scum on the top. Tasted it, it was disgusting. Didn't even taste like coffee. Also, the beds were so hard and uncomfortable. Wouldn't stay here again.

The property has some aesthetic and maintenance issues. It isn't pretty. The paint job is terrible and everything painted white looked dingy. The little patches of land outside each room, used to be grass, but are now dirt and weed patches. Some of the hotel amenities and games were worn out and need replaced. The rooms were clean and had been updated maybe 10 years ago. It had the most basic bed, TV, and sofa. There was no complimentary soaps or lotion. Only one little shampoo with no conditioner, which is fine since I take my own stuff, but don't expect any of the fancy stuff you would get anywhere else. The plank flooring was coming apart in areas. And just poorly done. Also the room kinda smelled musty and of old smoke. The roof was visibly in disrepair and had been patched multiple times, and there were bars of soap just laying on the roof. There is no elevator, so be prepared to drag all your stuff up the stairs if you have a second floor room. There is also minimal parking in front of the hotel. The parking is across the street and down a bit, but you should go down a block and over and around, because it's not super safe to cross at the hotel. So expect a lot of walking. Also, it's a little dark at night and not particularly safe. But it's easier than trying to back out onto the busy road, because people are rude and won't give you space. All this walking is fine, except when you are trying to pack and unpack your car and have to make 3 trips dragging your suitcases. They should have a dedicated parking spot saved for loading and unloading. The pictures on the website and booking.com are misleading and make the hotel look better than it is in reality. It really needs some work. They also indicated it was a gulf view. There really isn't a view. Maybe the tiniest sliver, which is blocked by part of the building that's closer to the beach. That was very misleading.

The location is fantastic! Situated at the end of a paved walking path that runs parallel to the beach, it's wonderful to get up and walk or people watch. The hotel is also close to John's Pass at Madeira Beach, about a mile, and can easily be walked to for shopping or eating. The staff was friendly and helpful. The property had a very nostalgic feel to it. I could literally imagine myself being there in the early 60s. The pool was basic, but decent and heated, although not particularly clean. The size of our room was excellent, plenty of space, and light from the big windows, that you could actually open to hear and smell the ocean.

The bed sheet is not clean at all (I don't think they changed it from the previous one), I used their spare one and changed myself. I would expect a room well-cleaned at least with the price I paid.

It sure needs some TLC. Some windows were broken, the ice machine sits on a couple of broken bricks, there were a lot of weeds that needed to be pulled. It just looks like the owners are letting it go.
