The host provided fresh fruit, cookies, there was a coffee maker & coffee available too. The room was comfortable, nicely decorated and the patio door opened to a wonderfully whimsical yard with an array of plants, flowers, trees, koi pond and so many small details making it just delightful to see each day.

Cosiest room on our entire stay on the vacation. We had a full garden to ourselves which lit up at night and a pond with large fishes. This was the best and most genuine room on our entire stay in Hawaii.

My only concern would be that, since the property is shared with the owners, it’s not fully private and there is occasional noise from the neighbors next door. Otherwise, what a lovely and peaceful respite!

The property was so lovely, with inspiring gardens and artistic landscapes. It truly represents the epitome of Kauai’s lush beauty. The accommodations were comfortable and the hosts were friendly and helpful. They even provided a beautiful bowl of island fruits as a welcome gift!

Everything was perfect.

What a gorgeous place to stay, in one of the most beautiful gardens we have ever seen. We ate our dinner in front of the illuminated carp pond each night. Our hosts had thought of everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We really appreciated the laundry facilities in particular. The location was excellent, central to routes on the island and a short drive from shops and restaurants, as well as the airport.

Just be aware that you can get some noise from the neighbours - but this is out of the owners control.

The garden is beautiful both during day and night. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. You do need a car as you are away from everything, but it's only a 10 -15 minute drive to Kapa'a where there is a lovely beach and good food venues. Very comfortable bed, shower pressure good, huge dressing area, so lots of storage for luggage and being able to use a washer/dryer on site was extremely useful.

Carol and Les are amazing hosts. They provide everything needed for a nice stay. The location is quiet and up hill - fresh ward air, no need to use AC. Their garden is very nice. Will be happy to come back.

Beautiful property with fabulous pond and garden literally right outside our bedroom- koi carp, dragonflies, birds and so many lizards. We loved it. Fresh fruit provided, plenty of coffee etc and good little kitchen where we could make pasta. Easy parking, lovely host and great area for seeing Kauai. Sooo much nicer than staying in a resort hotel, would highly recommend.

Absolutely nothing.

The Secret Garden Room is an absolute gem! The location was perfect, the garden is breathtaking, I was greeted with fresh fruit, the neighborhood was perfect, parking is available, the room is absolutely gorgeous, the bathroom is huge, the closet/changing area is ginormous, and the hosts are so welcoming and friendly. I can't recommend this beautiful guest house enough! I will be back- thank you !

The secret garden room was a utopia of nature delights and creativity. The attention to detail in the ambiance of cozy comfort was of the highest quality. From hair diffuser to fun interactive map, and more, you could feel the thoughtfulnesses and care that was put into it. It was the perfect place to unwind from work and play.

Kauaʻi is an amazing island with so much to experience. One of the highlights of our trip there was to stay at The Secret Garden Room. Hospitality like nowhere else and a fantastic garden that is exceptionally beautiful. Getting there by car is a necessity, it's however a short trip to restaurants as well as hiking and sights. We where lucky that the dates we were visiting Kauaʻi were available. Looking forward to coming back if we ever get the opportunity again.

Everything was just great. The room was very pretty and very clean, the bathroom was huge! The garden just beautiful, so many beautiful plants, we even got a tour ☺️ The best thing about our stay (but of course everything was just perfect) were the hosts, Carol & Les. They were the sweetest hosts ever! Bringing us fruits, asking if everything is alright, very mindful and very welcoming!! We would recommend the secret garden room 100% for everyone! The situation was also great to explore the island, because it’s in the middle. Thank you for this beautiful, welcoming stay!

The hosts are so kind and hospitable! You can see that everything is done with love, every detail! The room is spacious, clean, beautiful! Equipped with everything you need .. it's better than an apartment! and the garden is crazy, a sanctuary of peace. It was great, without a doubt one of the best stays of my life. The only aspect of our stay that could have gone better has nothing to do with the hosts or the place, as it related to the fact that neither of us has a driving license so it was hard to get places. We did find a way around it that worked very well though: we rented electric bikes and had a great time going around the island with them.

Everything was well explained and simple. The communication with the hosts was excellent. They had great recommendations in terms of what to do/see around there. We had a wonderful stay thanks to them.

The room was spectacular, and Carol and Les were fantastic hosts. The view of the garden from our room was a dream. We enjoyed spending the mornings watching the birds, koi and lizards outside the patio door. Carol and Les were super accommodating, even stocking our room with fresh fruit, delicious coffee and macadamia nut cookies. I loved the many books on Hawaii as well as the binder with lots of information on where to eat and what to see. Trust me - you can’t go wrong booking a stay at The Secret Garden Room. It’s the best!
