Did not sleep well. Despite the bed being comfy, it was so noisy at night—from the cars, trucks, ambulances, etc. There was a white mouse machine but the batteries were dead. The young man who worked there was a bit rude on our last morning there. Upon check in, he asked us which seating time we preferred-we said 9:15a, so one would assume that’s the time we eat both days. We weren’t told otherwise. Our last day, we come to breakfast at 9, there are only 2 place settings, and the young man says “You’re late.” We apologized stating we thought it was at 9:15. The young man never offered coffee refills, never said you’re welcome (as we thanked him for bringing out food, juice). Thankfully the older gentleman apologized for the time misunderstanding.

Excellent, walkable location. Close to stores, restaurants, pubs. Breakfast was delicious. Room very clean and spacious. Cozy electric fireplace in our room. Loved the big tub! So so relaxing. Shower was huge. Nice toiletries. Access to Keurig, water, fridge, wine. Parlors and library were beautiful. Loved the main staircase.

I have no complaints

This B&B sits in the historic town of Gettysburg, PA. It is beautiful inside and out. The staff was exceptional. I love that we could walk all over the town - the history is amazing - including this manor!

The welcome drinks were less than desirable wines and beers.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was phenomenal — different each of the three days. The location was in the middle of town — perfect.

Second stay at the Swope Manor,staff is always ready to help if any is needed. Breakfast is alway perfectly prepared and the morning conversation with the other guest is so entertaining. perfect location for walking to all the other downtown locations.

It would have been nice to have another trashcan and another mirror in the room, but that is minor. There really wasn't any issue other than the traffic noise, but they have zero control over that.

The breakfast was outstanding! Each day we were given lovely fruit and scrumptious egg dishes. The location was perfect and the manor is beige. The staff was always super friendly.

Jason and the staff were all very friendly, knowledgeable about Gettysburg and attentive. The breakfasts were all wonderful and my husband and I both especially enjoyed the stuffed french toast. I had a problem with the wifi. The manor's computers all worked fine, but I couldn't stay connected with my laptop. Staff helped me out on their computer so I could download maps I needed. But a guest that arrived during my stay said she had trouble too--she couldn't read on her iPad because the connection was bad. Weird issue, and not a deal breaker by any means, but maybe someone could investigate and fix the wifi problem.

This is not a huge negative comment but perhaps a note for improvement? Upon check in we were asked if we had any food alergies. No one had food alergies but there are some things some of us just don't eat. Like red meat, bread etc. So when declining the cooked breakfast that included bacon, I was delivered french toast. I don't eat bread but there was no option to actually ask for something else. I was given scambled eggs the previous morning and that was fine. So the french toast was wasted and the chef had to make something else for me. Also offering wine for guests to help themselves is great but at least make the wine drinkable???

The location was great, really nice bedrooms and communal area downstairs. Very quiet and comfortable. The extensive coffee and tea making facilities downstairs was well replenished and had many flavours to choose from.
