Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaShared shower. The people in the next room created a minor floor in our bathroom.
Perfect location in the hills away from distractions. Beautiful setting with outdoor space, hot tub and artistic touches throughout. Ernest was so helpful in giving us info about the area and places to go. His breakfasts were great and varied from day to day. He was a great host.

United States of AmericaNothing comes to mind. I forgot to get a picture with Ernest which makes me a little sad......
The owner/host was beyond excellent. Ernest is a delightful man with wonderful stories to share about his beautiful property and its history. He made my husband and I a delicous breakfast in the morning that we enjoyed in the kitchen with him as he cooked. The 3 bedroom B & B is private and wonderfully peaceful and set off the beaten path just enough. Ernest gave us great directions to drive to the little local town where we went to a very authentic Mexican restuarant and then on the way back we stopped at the OASIS (ask Ernest about it) which is worth checking out to walk off that great Mexican food! Ernest is a dream host. We will definitely go back. Its worth mentioning that there is a 'clothing optional' policy at the property, so if other guests chose to swim or soak in the hot tub naked, just know that is a possibility. The night we were there we were the only guests so it never came up.

United States of AmericaNothing, everything was fabulous.
We were going to Joshua Tree State Park and looking for a B&B close by. We thought Turtle Back looked interesting so we booked it. We have stayed at B&B's all over the country, over 50 of them, and I'd rate this one in the top 3. Ernest was one of, if not the, best and most gracious hosts we've ever met. His home is fantastic, our room was large, clean, and bright. Everything in the bath and room were first class. Ernest has a magnificent property and the natural mineral hot spring is amazing. He had the hot tub filled each night for us to enjoy. If you're looking to get away from EVERYTHING and just enjoy peace and quiet, you have found the right place. Ernest also recommended two fabulous restaurants to have dinner and helped to recommend things to see at the park. His home made breakfasts were great and he really makes you feel at home. Nancy and I will be returning and there's no place else I'll even consider to stay.

United States of AmericaIf I have to give a negative, the rooms are a bit tight. We had way too much luggage because were on a multi-stop trip, so we had more stuff than normal. There's ample public living space outside your room, so it's not really much of an issue, especially with only three rooms in the resort. And yes, the shared shower between the king rooms is a strange thing. There's still plenty of privacy, though. Both rooms were occupied and we barely even noticed it.
Ernest was a spectacular host and made us a wonderful breakfast. The facilities were outstanding, especially the hot mineral tubs. They were just what we needed. And an absolutely beautiful and quiet location. It was so relaxing. It is a clothing a optional resort and I felt absolutely no issue with taking advantage of that. There is ample privacy and no one around for a long way in any direction. The rooms were clean and neat and well kept.

United States of AmericaPlan to be secluded and bring your own food. There are no restaurants in walking distance and a 15 minute drive is required to get to a place to eat or buy food. Breakfast was including, so that is one meal you don't need to plan ahead. Two of the guest rooms share a shower. Not an issue (toilets and sinks are separate and not shared), but may require some planning as far as when you plan to wash up.
Peace and quiet. The owner was quite friendly (if a bit chatty) but since I was the only one there that night that likely contributed. Breakfast was tasty and he accommodated my requests. Hot tub was great under the stars! Note that pool and hot tub are "clothing optional"which didn't matter since I was alone and there were no other guests, but some of the descriptions of this place on the major reservation sites fail to mention this. Key word, optional.

United States of AmericaHaving a shared shower was a little weird in that you could hear what was going on in the other bathroom through the shared shower. Makes for a lack of privacy.
Turtle Back Mesa B and B is a cozy, friendly, and peaceful/restful place to stay. Ernest is a very attentive, responsive and kind host. The hot springs are lovely. The room very clean. The breakfasts were delicious. This is a small place and has an intimate feel. It reminds me of an "old school" B and B, where guests and host get to know one another a bit. We enjoyed that aspect very much.

United States of AmericaPer the website, we thought we were booking a B&B in Indio, CA to attend the PNB Paribas Tennis Open in Indian Wells. Not so. Turtle Back is actually located in Indio HILLS, which is miles from Indio. It took us nearly a half-hour to get from theB&B to Indio.
Our host Ernest was most friendly and helpful. He was also very interesting to talk to. His cat Goldilocks was a real character, a true lover.

United States of AmericaThe bathroom situation was off putting. Our bathroom was next to our neighbors and we had to share the shower. The space above the shower was open to our neighbors bathroom so we heard them using their bathroom and doing their business, loud and clear. We had to share the shower, so there was just a shower door between us.
Breakfast was good. Location was good and off of the beaten track. Very quiet.
