Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room needs some updating and I would recommend that they replace the carpet with some nice vinyl flooring, it would be cleaner and easier to clean. Bathroom smelled clean, but looked like they missed some areas.
Location is great, very close to UCD and downtown. The size of the room worked out great with the 3 of us, there was a King bed for my wife and I and then a pull out for my son.

My room was far from the lobby and I would have appreciated vending machines nearby being that I forgot my water bottle and was thirsty at about 11 p.m.
I liked the location. It felt safe.

The pool was filthy. Dead bugs, bird poop, and tons of leaves in the water. Pillows could be more comfortable.

The carpet has to be replaced.
The only thing that should be changed is the carpet, which was a little bit smelly. Otherwise, the facilities were within a walking distance from the university and user-friendly.

Not a huge deal, but mine was one of their rooms that was tucked under a stairway, so there was no front window and the back windows went to a kind of utility area. I didn't mind that they don't have breakfast, and there was coffee and tea and hot water too.
A very peaceful place close to downtown Davis. Really nice grounds and the rooms were big and clean

The train is loud at night, Parking limited but otherwise no downsides

Breakfast is not available in the hotel
It is very comfortable and clean, it has a pool in the garden. There are lots of restaurants nearby and UC Davis is 10-15 min walking distance

It would have been nice to have a continental breakfast included, but it was fine, as we knew beforehand that breakfast was not provided. Overall a very pleasant stay.
We had a multi-day event to attend at UC Davis, and this place met our needs. The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and clean, and there was ample free parking. We could see and hear the Amtrak train from our room window, but it didn't disturb us. If you are a light sleeper, the hotel provides complimentary earplugs. Breakfast is not included, but there is complimentary coffee and tea in the room as well as in the lobby. We also appreciated the water bottle refill station in the lobby. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within a short distance (walking or driving). Dutch Bros is right next door if you need your specialty coffee fix.

Like a number of properties close to downtown the passing trains can be very loud from time to time which is the only negative about the stay.

The room we were given seemed to be an older section and was not as nice as the last time we stayed at this hotel . It was away from the main building and was harder to get to the door in the rain. There were deep puddles in the sidewalk that led to the building.
There was no breakfast except coffee , tea and instant hot chocolate. It was always available though.

The room had an odd old smell, the carpets weren't clean and neither were the walls.
I liked the convenience, it was very close to the freeway and my favorite part was the Dutch Bros Coffee just 400 feet away lol

The biggest problem is the loudness of the trains blowing their horns throughout the evening. They do have earplugs by the bed so that tells you they are aware but there is not much they can do about their location. In spite of that we stayed one night going to Tahoe and one coming back.
Great value for the dollar. Clean, roomy, comfortable bed. Great price.

NOISY temperature control and bathroom fans. I’ve been in enough other rooms that have much quieter devices and made for a pleasant stay.
