Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWe signed up for a unique accommodation in the desert, and we did not know quite what to expect. We left with a memorable experience and an exposure to an extraordinary architectural artwork and the artists who have dedicated themselves to this unique experience. Be prepared to experience a personally authentic, creatively intense stay. This is not the Sheraton.

United States of AmericaFive out of five in all categories. I was met with a friendly welcome from the owner of the property, who immediately gave me a full tour of the premises and a choice of rooms. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic (and healthy)! What a unique property to stay at, in an incredibly beautiful location. I am so glad I stayed at Villa Anita rather than one of the mass tourism hotels located within the park. The conversation, food, and uniqueness of this location made it one of my most unique hotel stays anywhere.

BelgiumThis has been one of the most surprisingly enjoyable stays that I have had in years! Carlo and Jack are amazing, the place is one shiny wonder of art, curiosity and coziness in the middle of the desert. Very warmly recommended (including the music, the food, the breakfast, the comfort)

United States of AmericaI would advise that you read the description closely as it's not a luxury hotel. Be open minded to the experience of traveling. It's within reasonable distance of the death valley NP but not as close as I'd wanted :-)
Breakfast was awesome. It was a full home cooked breakfast course. The location was close enough to Death Valley NP for a day trip. But if you seek a place to be creative or some soul searching, the villa is also a great space to explore your inner and outer self. It's more like a personal retreat space rather than just a place to sleep, so take the time to slow down and enjoy the moments. And the doggies!! <3 <3 <3

It was a unique adventure unlike anything I expected. Carlos and Jack are great host. This is a Bohemian art gallery. Not the Rits . The only phone and internet service is in the main house. We had dinner with their friends and dogs.

United States of AmericaWould be better if room could be better supplied with toilet paper. Would be better if the bathroom area in Bottle Room could be better heated.
Loved Carlo and Jack! They were extremely welcoming, friendly, and did their best to make us feel at home. Loved the location and premises. One could wander for days and not see it all. Loved the beauty of the Bottle Room. Enjoyed sharing breakfast with Carol and Jack

The owners were extremely accommodating! We just loved them both! They treat everyone like family and go above and beyond to make sure all your needs are met and make you feel comfortable. Expect to be in a setting full of the art decor and collections of used and unique items all around you. Must love dogs! Every room and area is decorated differently. This is not a conventional stay! so if you are creative and open-minded and like to make new friends this is the place for you.

United KingdomI was staying in the bird room and think they should have a more imaginative soap dish and dispenser to tie in with the rest of the decor!
Hosts were amazing and the decor extraordinary. Amazing artwork everywhere, some by the talented host, Jack. Had a delicious homemade dinner by Carlo. I don't eat breakfast but had some lovely tea and enjoyed the sunrise from their outside seating area. It's such an experience that I wished I could have stayed longer.

NorwayIt is a lot of stuff all around, that I personally would have liked to have seen cleaned up better. That being said: this is an art installation, in constant change, where I suspect most of the stuff should be considered part of the experience.
I loved the location in the desert, making it possible to just walk into the dunes and enjoy the solitude. The place itself far away from your average place to stay - it is an art installation, it is an experience, and it is a destination all by itself. The hosts are amazing: artists, cooks, hospitable hosts, and great story tellers. Bonus: You can purchase art and take home with you!
