Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe beds - not going to lie they were horrid - after 3 nights I need to go back to the physio. Even my 8 year old slept on the day bed in preference to the bed as it was more comfortable. Up grade the beds and you’d have 10 out of 10
Great property close enough to walk to everything but also far enough way. Hotel has charm and character. Lovely staff. It has old world charm.

United States of AmericaSome of the staff were not the friendliest. My room was kind of noisy being between the front door and the ice machine.
The location and price were great. Walking distance to everything in the French Quarter.

United States of AmericaAir conditioning was not the greatest. Our room never got very cool, just tolerable. The guy playing the piano in the lobby needs a break. He seemed a little dehydrated and malnutritioned...:)
Location was close but far enough to be quiet. Staff is very nice and willing to work with you.

FranceThe hotel is in a fabulous location - close to the beignets in Jackson Square, the madness of Bourbon St, the atmosphere of Frenchmen St but in a quiet little road. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Love the little courtyard where we would enjoy our coffee in the morning - free all day in reception. This hotel absolutely does what it says on the tin!

United States of AmericaParking is a long schlep, about five blocks or more. Easier to walk and return than to find because of one-way streets. The elevator needs to feed the squirrels that turn the wheels to raise and lower. The noise is loud and a bit scary. I thought one of the squirrels was going to croak every trip.
Vieux Carre at your doorstep.

United States of AmericaIts a very old building so I dont think it could have or should have been any better but for the sake of potential guest, some of the rooms are quite small and youll have to manage your space well. Some reviews suggested it isnt clean. I didnt find that to be the case. Being an old building it isnt pristine. There is cracked and peeling paint, some banged up doors and railing etc. but nothing feels unsanitary. They do seem to clean the rooms well. Getting hot water in mornings can be a challenge though.
The location is great and the staff is very friendly. They always had fresh coffee in the lobby. The building is approx. 200 years old so it sort of has its on character and charm. Itscleaner than I expected based on some reviews. There is a great bake shop across the street too.

United States of Americathe bathroom could have been a little cleaner and the a/c a little quieter but we had a good night's rest all in all.
location was on a nice quiet street in the French Quarter near everything, the room was comfortable and clean with room service each day, there was parking available but we didn't need it for our stay. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating.

United States of AmericaThe rooms really need a deep cleaning and a coat of paint. It’s been quite a while since that was done. Rooms are quite small but we don’t spend a lot of time in room.
Location is amazing. Close to everything but the street itself is very quiet. The balcony is well worth the extra cost. Free parking is a huge bonus in the French quarter

United States of AmericaThe room was a little rundown, lots of peeling paint in the bathroom. The door was difficult to operate (though we were warned of that). Elevator was a little scary! All in all I know these are just old building issues.
Location was perfect distance from attractions, it was pretty quiet, staff was friendly and helpful, they got transport to airport for us, good communication before arrival. The balcony was very nice to sit on in morning and evening. Good coffee in the lobby. Bed was soft and comfy. All the drinks in vending machine were $1.

United States of AmericaThere were no chairs on the second floor balcony for us to use, it would have been nice to sit out during the nice weather.
Location was really phenomenal, very close walking distance from everything in the French Quarter and across the street from a bakery but it was still quiet. Nice courtyard and comfy rooms.

Charming old hotel in the middle of the French Quarter. Very friendly staff. I enjoyed eating in the courtyard! For those who believe in ghosts: this hotel is rumored to be haunted. I didn't sense anything, but my boyfriend felt like something was watching him...

Charming boutique hotel in a perfect location in the Quarter. Close to Esplanade Ave and quiet… away from the upper quarter bustle. Lovely and friendly front desk staff. I used to live in the French Quarter, so I’m visiting I don’t want to stay in a cookie cutter hotel. Via Convento was another perfect stay in one of my favorite cities. If you’re looking for turn down service and a chocolate on your pillow, this is not your place. If you want true old New Orleans charm… Give it a try.

United KingdomThe only thing we felt a bit uncomfortable with was the lack of safe in the room. I would recommend the hotel invest in one per room to help guests feel more comfortable.
The staff was very nice and accommodating to our needs. The location is absolutely perfect if you want to be near the busy spots but without the noise of the area.
