Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Location was great, walking distance to almost everything. I highly recommend staying here when in San Francisco. There were so many restaurant options from casual to fine dining.

We booked a room we thought will have a window bench. It appears that not all rooms have said bench even when you pay for the deluxe. Rooms are kinda small restrooms are super small.
Good location. Good friendly and helpful staff. Nice hotel bar with free wine glass each night.

Room was very small we were 3 and there were only towels for 2. When I asked for more towels they brought 2. I was not feeling well during the morning so when I finally went downstairs and asked that the room be refreshed-it wasn’t.

Information is very confusing - not updated, lots of misinformation. We arrived and were trying to park our vehicle. Told they no longer work with the parking garage they have listed on booking.com so we did valet instead. Listing said there’s bathrobes and slippers but none were given to us. Security deposit is $200 not $300 listed. We tried calling the front desk dozens and dozens of times but never got anyone to pickup. We were asked at least 8 times if we were checking out and that got annoying. On the day of checkout we mentioned we were going out in the morning and we would call to checkout. I was asked directly at 9 am if we were checking out and I said we were NOT checking out. Received our checkout bill 30 minutes later. Tried calling the front office since and no response.

Walking down some of the adjacent streets felt sketchy. No fault of the hotel.
Room and acommodations were very clean and comfortable. The suite was perfect for our family visit to SF. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious in the adjoining hotel restaurant...Bota Tapas & Paella Bar. Located across from Theaters on Geary Street, many other sites are in walking distance: Union Square, the Warfield Theater, Cable Cars, Grace Cathedral...and beyond!

They wanna charge me over 60 for parking, the area seems unsafe, there were people yelling on the street, we were afraid to go out at night.

1 of the staff ladys had a very snobby personality. Didn’t smile, I didn’t feel welcome. The parking valet took forever to bring us our car and we noticed a few paint chips on my car…
I loved it’s uniqueness, it was very clean and comfortable.

No amenities like a gym.
The hotel is very well located close to many points of interest and all kinds of transportation means, as well as restaurants and stores. A small room and bathroom, clean and well equipped with the necessary to have a decent rest. It's very good for short stays like mine. The price is fair, and people at the front desk are very nice.

The room could have used with a paint job in some spots, the TV didn’t work & one of the pieces of wood comprising the pseudo cabinet underneath the sink fell off, so I had to put it back on.
The staff was very nice, the bed was comfortable, the room was warm & water pressure in the shower was good. Love that there was shower gel in the bathroom, an iron & ironing board, as well as a safe & mini fridge.

The staff was kind of hostile. Not much was explained at check in or check out. They expected guests to just tap your card with no explanation of parking or deposit fees. And their front desk didn’t help much. The elevator also broke down before check out so I had to carry all my luggage down the stairs myself.
The hotel had a great location. Walking distance to many things. The hotel itself was also nice.

Homeless ppl next to the property. Cleaning service was bad. Didn’t change the sheets bottles and bathroom clog was not fixed even after informing. Heater broke second night

The room had an odor; it looks like an older building. Not intolerable.
Customer service was exceptional! The location was awesome; there were homeless people around but the hotel felt safe.
