Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWe booked last minute and got the only two rooms available, in the secondary building. They were rather spartan and not updated, but for one night, it was fine.
Really cool to stay in such a historic property whose owner has made a significant investment in upgrading the outdoor amenities. A lovely raised deck and. gardens were highlights. We loved being able to walk along the quiet paths to the lake and to sit and watch the kayaks glide by. We heard great things about the restaurant, but it was closed on the night we were there.

United States of AmericaWe arrived later and then locked ourselves out of the room. The owner was very responsive (was not on premises at the time) and very understanding. Room is v small but efficient and clean. Beware: no elevator and our bags were heavy. No big deal for us but others might struggle with this. Breakfast was disappointing and staff just okay.

United States of AmericaWe had ladybugs in our room. Now, this wouldn't sound like a problem as ladybugs are lucky and lovely little guys. Unfortunately, when you're sleeping and they are falling from the ceiling its just gross. Also, seeing any bug crawling on your ceiling is not what you want. Also, the TV was smaller than my computer monitor. We are not big TV people but its nice at the end of the day to catch up on news or find a movie.
The food was good, and the staff was very friendly. We only stayed one night but we enjoyed out time. We would like to check out the cabins when they are in season. I would recommend this Inn.

United States of AmericaRude/curt woman at front desk, would not let us check in one hour early to empty hotel without charge nor offer to hold our bags. We just wanted to complete check in and drop off our bags so we could relax and go visit friends. Had already filled out paperwork and had to carry our bags back to the car and return later as we were not willing to pay extra $20 just to drop off our bags. Kept citing "that is our policy." Ok, at least offer to hold our bags? We travel frequently and have never been treated so rudely. Bad first impression for guests.
Beautiful Inn and good location for visiting friends in Fitzwilliam. Full delicious breakfast and excellent service. All other staff were very friendly and professional.

AustriaFor a hotel of this price class I really expect better service and communication. There was no refridgerator in the room which was quite inconvenient. There was a lack of healthy options for breakfast. In my opinion, the coffee could be better. Lots of plastic and single-use items (e.g., plastic cups in the bathroom) . It was a comfortable temperature outside, but windows were closed and the air conditioning was on full blast - it would be great to reduce the amount of unnecessary trash and energy. There was only "regular" tv in the room (i.e., lots of advertisements). W-LAN was not great.
There was a lot to like about the hotel. For us, the best feature was being able to hang out on the private beach. Our room was big and comfortable. Good dinner and drinks at the restaurant. We loved eating outside in the screened-in porch. There was live music on the weekend with a fun atmosphere. There is a playground just 5 min. drive away, there is also a grocery store close by. Plenty of parking.

United States of AmericaWe have stayed here before and loved the Inn. Although the Inn had very few guests while we were there, they had recently had a conference in the main Inn and were expecting another group afterwards and were probably still preparing for the surge in visitors due to arrive. Much to our surprise however, they put us in a separate older building on the property, which was not as charming or welcoming. Our room was nice but the entrance to that building and the interior hallways lacked charm, were very old, dark & dingy. The main building of the Woodbound Inn was as lovely and beautiful as I had remembered it and we wished we had been able to stay there instead.
Beautiful remote setting, very quiet.
