Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyYes, you do not have a sea view. BUT: You are just in paradise anyway. When back to Cape Town we will be back! Thanks so much to you and your team!
A magical place right within busy Cape Town - the Garden makes you feel you are in a secluded paradise while outside the busy life of Cape Town goes on. The breakfast was one of the best we got through our travel through South Africa: Everything is fresh, many little dishes - attention to detail. Well, what to expect from French owners!? ;-) The apartment was great with lots of space for our family. The owner Maxime is very kind and always helpful with lots of recommendations where to go (YES, the last day of our travel we finally made it to Babylonstoren and delivered your key! :-)). Kloof & Long Street are just a 1minute walk away.

United States of AmericaThere wasn't anything that we didn't like. We were completely satisfied. Thank you, Maxime and the entire team, for a wonderful stay!
Breakfast was delicious every morning! GREAT coffee! And the staff was always so pleasant and accommodating. We felt well cared for while there. The location was also wonderfully convenient. It was easy to walk to some places and also easy to get an Uber.

NetherlandsWe were placed in the second floor, and during a windy night, and I couldn’t tell if it was the front door or the shutters that kept on rattling throughout the night. The internet could use some speed.
Nicely located near restaurants and bars. The garden is beautiful, the common space and rooms are nicely decorated and the ambience very relaxing, breakfast was plentiful and delicious, very nice courtesy to offer tea, coffee and cookies at all times. Very helpful recommendations on things to do and to find a driver. Michel and the staff were welcoming and went beyond in their service.

NetherlandsThe room was designed for short people. Short bed, showerhead at eye level and bathroom mirrors to see my belly in.
Beautiful green space right in the city. Very friendly and personal contact. Nice room. Very French atmosphere. Close to a lot of bars and restaurants and we felt safe to walk around even all the way to the waterfront. Parking next to the entrance. Good breakfast.

Belgium- In the beginning of our stay, we’ve showered a few times with pretty cold water. So, we’ve mentioned it at breakfast. It appeared that they were aware something was wrong, but fixed it right away (and quick). It was just a pity that it wasn’t fixed already, before we came. - The common area was really cold, even though they had a fire place. Some blankets would have been nice! (We were there towards the end of winter.)
- I really loved the interior. And the fact that there’s a nice common area, so we could still have a lovely evening while our toddler was asleep in our room. - The hosts were super friendly and helpful. - The breakfast was … waw. Almost everything was home-made, which you could taste. - We were allowed to do a late check-out on the day we flew back to Belgium, which was really nice as we have a toddler who still sleeps during the day. That way, we had a really comfortable flight back home. We really really appreciated that! - The neighbourhood had a lot of restaurants. It was safe to walk around (even at night).

The breakfast spread was amazing with lots of choices. The bread was delicious along with the warm croissants. Electric blankets were a plus in the winter. The hosts were good company and the whole place had a lovely ambience. Location was perfect for us. Tucked away and quiet but right next door to plenty of restaurants, Thali Indian restaurant was exceptional. The Mexican bar/restaurant was also a popular spot.

NetherlandsEven on their own parking places you will be approached by the ‘parking guards’ almost every time you leave (sometimes rude if you ‘only’ pay 6 zar). We stayed couple of days and went out couple of times by car, so this was a bit annoying.
