Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

There wasn’t anything to complain about really … the only thing odd were the light switches . Initially I had trouble finding which ones went with which lights but this is a minor issue.
I liked the prompt response from the owner and the ease of communication. The flatlet was well laid out, clean and had everything I needed including a secluded deck with lovely Mountain View’s.

Only the mattress in the bungalow needs to be replaced...
The owners and the staff were very welcoming. They respect the guest's privacy. The room was very clean..Its a quiet environment.

Being an apartment in a roof area, it did get rather hot in the day. There is aircon, although we did not actually use it.
A nice private apartment in a nice quiet area of Constantia. Near by to shops and a lovely green belt walk.

Nothing, really. Our bungalow room was a little tired and quite small just be aware when booking. No private outdoor space. It was, however, perfect for our needs and I think reflected in the price so no complaints.
Convenient, had all we needed and good value. Host easy to communicate with friendly staff. Good location for a quiet stay.

Located in the heart of Constantia, close to restaurants and entertainment and many beaches. Accommodation is slightly small but well fitted out, very clean and well maintained. Jasper was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely consider staying here again when the opportunity arises.

On the booking platform there is a beautiful photograph of a terrace which cought my eye in the first place. That is only at the larger appartment of course. I guess I should have looked closer.
Very quiet area yet close to amenities. The room was tiny but spotlessly clean and everything we needed was there.

Ibfelt there was no personalization. The owner did not show face at all. In my culture one is not welcome until they officially meet the owner of the household. So it felt a bit impersonal.
Cleanliness of the place, and Comfort. I appreciated check upby the owner through the call.

Thinking back now, the only very minor hassle was the bed being slightly less comfortable on one side compared to the other. This was certainly no deal breaker for us as we both slept well.
We stayed in the loft apartment. Although we arrived later than most people would (20h00), the host was ready to meet us and show us around. We were thoroughly impressed by the space in the apartment and all the various fittings. The view from the outdoor deck was phenomenal. Although we did not use it, the kitchen would be more than adequate for cooking meals at the apartment while the barbecue on the deck was a welcome addition. The bathroom was well appointed and the bath/shower combination a major plus. An added benefit: while the loft is above the host's house, there is no restriction on when guests can come and go. The area is quiet and its incredible location a real bonus. We will be back!
