Rome was excellent, but be prepared for some key points.

Rome was excellent, but be prepared for some key points. There will be hordes of tourists everywhere, but as long as you are prepared for that it will be fine. Be sure to absolutely get tickets in advance if possible, as this expedited the entries to colloseum and vatican museums. There are so many nice historical buildings that we get tired after a while, so I think we need a separate visit to cover the items we did not get to explore. We were there with 3 kids, aged 10, 12 and 14 and they loved it. Went the last day to Ostia lido for a relaxing day on the beach. We lived close to the colosseum, but if we go again we'll try to stay closer to the main shopping street as the shopping was just as exiting for the kids after a busy period prior to the afternoon of sightseeing.

It is true what they say, all roads do lead to Rome.

It is true what they say, all roads do lead to Rome. For sure the most beautiful city in Europe. You have layers upon layers of history that you can visit. From the Etruscans to Ancient Rome to Renaissance, you can experience all phases of European civilization in this city. The food is the best you will find anywhere in the world by far. Every restaurant where we ate was just incredible. You have such a variety and all is amazing, from pizza to pasta to lasagna to seafood and deserts. The prices are really good and they don't really change depending on the location. You can eat very well and at an affordable price near all big attractions (Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon etc.). And you must for sure try the coffee which is excellent.

There are millions of tourists everywhere! The city is packed and when there one must take into consideration long waiting times to many of the cultural and historical places. Fantastic stay. Eight days is just right to visit not only the obligatory points (Colosseum, Formum Romanum, Palatine, St. Peter's Basilica, or Spanish Steps), but also, for example, the Basilicas of St. John and St. Paul and Ostia Anitca.

St Peter's square and Trevi fountain early morning a my best's. I would recommend to eat at "La Zanzara" and "Ago e Lillo" bistrot near the Vatican city. For me it was easy to navigate around Rome, because everything was reachable on foot from the apartment I have rent. But for the next visit I would make a good homework: You need to find the best time to go to Rome, if You don't want to spend more than 4 hours in the line to see something, because of the quantity of the tourists...

Hotel is very conveniently placed for travellers who come for sight-seeing in Rome but don't want to stay right in the centre, as there are two public bus lines close by and they operate frequently. It is even possible to park a private car at the hotel but the number of places is limited. Our room was perfectly comfortable and clean, fresh towels every day, mini fridge, safe deposit box, air-condition. Breakfast included more variety of foods than in many hotels in Italy (eggs, bacon, cold meats...).

The room was very clean with all equipments. no noise from the streets since the window is toward the garden. very close to the metro and Roma Termini. and I need to mention while the breakfast was not on the list of benefits I had access to the coffee and light breakfast and also the kitchen tools. It was the best hotel we stayed in throughout Italy. Hotel Everest Inn - Rome was the best compared to our hotels in Milan, Florence and Naples. The room was a great size for 2 people, bright and clean including the bathroom. The staff at reception, including Ivan were very helpful and friendly and also allowed us to freshen up after we checked out and had to come back for our luggage. We also had free coffee and croissants in the morning. We definately would book this hotel again.

The location was perfect. It was our first time in Italy and our first stop was Rome. The Trevi Fountain is pretty central to the other landmarks for sight-seeing, so it was not too far of a walk and we could stop back in the hotel throughout the day. The included Breakfast exceeded our expectations, a good spread and you could sit on their rooftop terrace overlooking the Trevi Fountain. It was a bit difficult to locate when we first got there, but otherwise, highly recommend!

There was heavy rain in Milan area from.Oct 31 to couple of days, which left public transportation on halt, and road and street flood, but this hotel uncooperative on refunding my money that I had paid in advanced. Plus on top of that this hotel isn't providing any other option for customers. Once everything is on halted in milan italy then what my family and I would do, we cannot able travel any other places, which this hotel has hard time understanding,

This was our second stay at Hotel Trastevere within a 10-day period. (We started and ended our trip to Italy in Rome, with visits elsewhere in the middle.) Once again, we greatly enjoyed the location, the friendly and helpful staff, and the daily breakfast. Although it probably doesn't have all the amenities that some larger or more expensive hotels do, it had almost a family atmosphere, and we felt very much at home.
