    Beautiful city.

Beautiful city. We did not go into any of the main attractions, but visited and viewed them all from the outside. They were magnificent! Center of Rome is incredibly busy. Cars and scooters do not respect or yield to pedestrians. We found that many people were not as friendly as we had heard(not talking about the hotel staff. They were the best!)

Beautiful city with so much to see - great for walking around and you don't even need to use public transport. LOTS of tourists, so be aware you need to book for EVERYTHING. Would recommend going in spring as it gets very hot, but also great that around the main city area/ The Vatican there are free fresh drinking water fountains. Would highly recommend visiting the Trastevere area for food and drink, lovely vibe and so many places to try... and a tour of the Colosseum is a MUST!

Rome was wonderful and a week there did not provide enough time to see everything we wanted to see. Reservations or advance tickets are definitely needed for most places it seemed, but helpful hotel staff and locals made that process much easier. If you have mobility issues then be very wary, since getting around, especially if you need a taxi to pick you up at a specific location can be fairly challenging along with the unescapable stairs, busy narrow sidewalks and large amounts of people everywhere, bur especially at the most famous landmarks.

Rome, the Eternal City, never fails to captivate with its...

Rome, the Eternal City, never fails to captivate with its unique blend of ancient history and vibrant modern life. From the awe-inspiring ruins of the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, resonating with the might of the ancient Roman Empire, to the tranquil allure of the Vatican City, Rome promises an extraordinary journey through time. As you stroll along the cobblestone streets, you'll stumble upon numerous piazzas adorned with timeless fountains. The air is infused with the tantalizing scent of freshly brewed espresso from lively cafés. The culinary delights are a sensory feast, with authentic dishes that entice your taste buds and celebrate the depth of Italian cuisine. However, Rome can sometimes overwhelm with its throngs of tourists and the hectic pace of city life. To navigate this, consider visiting popular attractions early in the morning or late in the afternoon and take breaks in quieter areas like the Aventine Hill. Despite this, the city's artistic heritage and historical grandness make it a must-visit destination for those seeking to experience the soul of Italy.

Take it easy - there's so much to see that you will probably try and take in too much. Pack good walking shoes - you'll find you walk further than you expected and the cobbled roads/pavements are tough on the feet. Buses - don't rely on any online bus information - it's a work of fiction. Spend some time in Trastavere during daytime - it's usually more relaxing than the centre, but does get more frenetic after dark.

Wonderful city, with lots of history to offer.

Wonderful city, with lots of history to offer. My favorite spot was the Sistine Chapel for me. It is unbelievable what was made so many years ago. Like the ceiling is talking to you. Make sure you bring headphones so you can fully enjoy it because otherwise, people don't respect the silence that is necessary to enjoy it fully. The city itself is super dirty, trash is everywhere, and tourists are everywhere. Feels like everybody in the world is in Rome at any time of the day. Pickpockets are everywhere, police don't seem bothered about it, so take care of your belongings. Getting around Rome is easy but exhausting, cause if you want to see the city you should walk as much as you can -- wear comfortable shoes.

This was my first trip to Italy. And straight to Rome. I really wanted a place to sleep and relax that would not spoil the impression of the trip. Therefore, I chose the hotel for a long time and very carefully. I chose Amica Roma Guest House and I was right! The hotel is conveniently located, within walking distance of the Vatican and the metro. Very cozy and comfortable room. Very tasty breakfasts! And a wonderful, sincere host Robert. Staying at this hotel only enhanced my wonderful feelings from a trip to magical Rome!

The location was great! We loved that we felt like locals while staying here. The room looks exactly like the pictures. Romantica Guest House was one of the best accommodations we had during our stay in Italy. Would definitely stay here again if I ever return to Rome. The check in process was also flexible. Our flight landed at 8 pm. We were able to stay in contact with the host and he met us at the Guest House right as the taxi was dropping us off. There was a small fee for late check in but it was very reasonable.

The location of this hotel is great, walking distance to Colosseum, Trevi fountain etc. Also close to some good restaurants (Melo, Pizzeria alle Carrette). Dined and had breakfast in the hotel restaurant - excellent staff - good food and value for money. Our room had a lovely view over Rome and was quite spacious. Bed was really comfortable. Staff were very helpful and had really good local knowledge. Had tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a fridge which you don't always get in Italy.

The location could not be improved. Everything you could wish to see in Rome is within walking distance. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and neat. The hotel is quiet - remarkably so, given it’s central location. The breakfast is nothing special, but that is normal in Italy. The coffee and pastries are good - because for an Italian that is what counts. If you want an egg white omelette with non gluten toast you really are in the wrong country.

This hotel is situated within 5 minutes walk from Roma Termini, very convenient if you come to Rome with a train or a plane. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is relatively rich for Rome, as you will get some ham and salami, boiled eggs. The rooms are small, but not to the point of being inconvenient. Air conditioning is working, and it does not smell with fungi as most of the units in Italy. There is an elevator, so you do not have to carry your baggage up.

Perfect location in what was our first visit Rome and has now become a firm favourite area we would stay in time and time again. Staff were courteous and kind, really polite, and lots of nice little touches to make our stay lovely. The daily happy hour 6-8 was a huge bonus! The breakfast was the best we had in Italy, even with no onsite kitchen fresh scrambled egg and fresh fruit and coffee (just my choice, many other options) was delicious.

When in Rome we will always stay at this hotel. Absolutely perfect. The best breakfast in all of Italy. Wonderful staff. No complaints whatsoever. Close to all kinds of public transport. Not a very long walk to the old town.

Very short overnight stay at Kolbe hotel on our way out of Italy and Rome. Nice duplex room that the kids enjoyed staying at. Breakfast was good as well. Location was great too, it's right outside of the Roman Forum.
