Best Western Plus Hotel Spring House, hotel in Rome

This property offers a Special Protection Program, a strict program of precise safeguards dedicated to our guests and our staff.

We came to Rome as a family of four so the split levels in our room was really nice. The location is close to the Vatican and felt very safe, with lots of food options nearby. The facilities were excellent and the extra touches were very appreciated (bottles of water daily, slippers and robes). It felt like a luxury stay. Less than 10 minute walk to the metro. Highly recommend staying here when visiting Rome and/or the Vatican.

Hotel della Torre Argentina is an elegant historic building in the center of Rome, a 2 minute walk from the market in Campo de Fiori square.

The hotel is centrally located to many points of interest in Rome. A 15 minute walk in any direction to most of the major sites. Room and bathroom were very clean, bathroom had been remodeled at some point and was very modern. We loved having a bath and a shower available. The daily breakfast downstairs was a great spread and worth the extra euros on top of the room booking.

Great location and within easy walking distance to Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza Novana and many shops and restaurants. Room was very clean when we checked in and the staff kept it clean throughout our 9 day stay. The shower was a nice size which you don’t always find in European hotels. Room was spacious with a nice size closet with hangers and shelves. The room also had a small safe and a mini fridge. Staff were friendly and helpful especially Furuk. Amazing place full of so much history with the most amazingly beautiful churches that were places of sanctuary from the crowds and heat. Very crowded and everywhere you had to queue for entrance to places of interest. We went the end of May and the start of June and it was so hot it was at times very uncomfortable. Everywhere there was restoration building going on which spoiled many sites. The Vatican and other churches are something not to be missed. The ruins scattered throughout the city are just amazing. Walking by the river gave some relief from the heat and crowds and enabled you to get to most places. Restaurants offered pizza and pasta, good but expensive and got a bit boring for choice. Ice cream delicious and quite cheap compared to UK.

There are many landmarks and lovely restaurants off the beaten track. Ask your host for advice. Both public transport and taxi services are very reasonably priced, but the best way to explore Rome and its many neighborhoods is walking, and "getting lost."

Learn the bus system to get around the center!

Learn the bus system to get around the center! During peak season, the streets are crowded to be prepared for that. When going to a museum etc., purchase the audio tour because they are really helpful, you can go at your own pace and are less expensive than a 'tour'. Order tickets a day early, online, it is not difficult to do. Then you won't have to wait in long lines. Bring a hat, and water during the spring/summer months. You may want to consider an umbrella.

Honestly the best thing about our stay was Hotel Vilòn. It's in an ideal location close to the Spanish Steps and the river, hundreds of elegant shops, and restaurants and the staff could not be more professional and kind. We were there for our 20th anniversary so there was a bottle of chilled Champagne and a gorgeous selection of chocolate and fruit delicacies waiting for us in our room when we checked in. The ambience in the lobby, the restaurant and bar is totally unique and charming. Incredible art works decorate the entire hotel adding character and luxurious comfort. The bed and linens and in-room amenities were delightful as well. I truly can't wait to go back.

Rome is a great city to go sightseeing.

Rome is a great city to go sightseeing. We found 3 hours in the Colosseum area to be too much and preferred our Golf Cart trip to the Appian Way. We had done the Vatican before so we avoided it as we heard the crowds were awful. Trastevere is a great neighborhood from which to base. Best tip we got was to visit the Testaccio Market for shopping and lunch.

Our host Francesco was super nice, helpful, and accommodating. It was our first time in Italy and he gave us some good advice we used throughout our trip. The room was fairly basic but had everything needed for a few day stay in Rome. The location was great as well, the neighbor hood felt safe, had several stores, restaurants, and cafes nearby for anything we could need. It was a short walk to the metro and the Vatican, but was far enough away from the tourist areas so it wasn't too loud or busy outside the apartment.

It was a perfect stay at the middle of the historical city of Rome located within 1 km from Colosseum and just over a km from Roma Termini station. Very clean and comfortable room with a balcony and plenty of air and lights. The AC really can cool down the room unlike most of the hotels of Italy. Both room and toilet looked very well maintained. Bonus point was the nice and helpful behavior of the host. She went beyond our expectations with her helpfulness. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed this location, which straddles the neighborhoods of Monti and Esquilino. It was easily walkable to many sites as well as to public transportation, including Termini. The communication prior to arrival was excellent, the accommodation was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the coffee/tea station which also had little snacks available. I would absolutely recommend staying here, though the prices in Rome were a shock after being in Southern Italy.

Our check in time was out of the house rules, but host allowed us to check in later. Moreover, our train got late and host still waited us for several hours. We just cannot be more thankful. This was our second stay at Hotel Trastevere within a 10-day period. (We started and ended our trip to Italy in Rome, with visits elsewhere in the middle.) Once again, we greatly enjoyed the location, the friendly and helpful staff, and the daily breakfast. Although it probably doesn't have all the amenities that some larger or more expensive hotels do, it had almost a family atmosphere, and we felt very much at home.

The hotel is a very easy 15 minute walk from the central train station. The location is very good as you're on a main street in Rome and can get to many places easily. The room was just fine; clean; good shower; comfy bed. Breakfast had hard boiled eggs (seemingly common in Italy vs scrambled eggs), plus meats, cheeses and fruits. Decent. The room was shaded well at night so that it remained dark. Good place.

Great location close to train station and easy to get to centre of Rome. Nice and clean room with accomodating host. Breakfast was a cappuccino and crossiant from cafe downstairs, cappuccino was one of the best we had in Italy!

When in Rome we will always stay at this hotel. Absolutely perfect. The best breakfast in all of Italy. Wonderful staff. No complaints whatsoever. Close to all kinds of public transport. Not a very long walk to the old town.

So close to Rome Termini train station if you are planning to head out to other places in Italy. Staff were kind and helpful, excellent stay overall!
