I loved the area where I stayed, Marais. It's a lovely neighborhood, alive with culture, food and shops. Convenient to metro and great for people who love to walk and explore! I took advantage of a few tourist attractions: Arc de Triomphe, Seine River cruise, Musee d'Orsay, Louvre, Catacombs, Palace of Versailles and 2 shows: Paradis Latin and Moulin Rouge.

Very little litter on the streets, in parks or on the Metro. Cyclists are respectful and obey the rules of the road. A good choice of places to eat offering excellent food and friendly staff. It is worth visiting Paris just for the pastries! No 'cost-a-lot' type coffee chains and very few junk food shops. I shall did better research before i spend my money in this nasty hotel. He wants me to book it for next weekend. They also let him check a bag so he could pick it up on his way back out of town. They had a buffet breakfast that was convenient for him.
