Amsterdam is expensive, but we knew that.

Amsterdam is expensive, but we knew that. We just chose a pretentious hotel because everything was expensive anyway, and we didn't want to stay in a boring suburb. We profited from the museums, walked next to water, etc., which we enjoyed. Strange detail : The water boiler in our room was placed impossibly high as if for Dutch people who are 2m tall or more. I asked the front desk and they confirmed that the hotel was owned by a Dutch chain. Next time we'll go to an international one, although that's less creative.

Beautiful city with so many canals, lovely old buildings and lots of parks. Transportation is easy to navigate (Use googlemap) and pay (by credit card) but not cheap, fortunately the city is very walkable with plenty of café and restaurants for rest and food as one explore the city on foot. The City has good vibes even in the red light districts. Travelers can easily take short train rides to nearby towns and get a different Dutch experience. (Hoorn and Zaanse Schans can be considered)

Great place to visit and lots to see and experience.

Great place to visit and lots to see and experience. Would also go to Rotterdam, the Hague, Delft, Giethoorn, Zaanse Schans and Edam if possible. And visit the Rijksmusem too - give it at least 5 to 6 hours at least. There are more places to visit too and good restraunts to eat out at with local food. Don't miss the boat ride in the Canals - do some research on which one to select. If possible do one in the day and another in the night. The city has great transit and is very well connected. Very safe city and everyone speaks English which is a bonus.

Amsterdam is filled with too many options, catering to every possible need. Walking around Amsterdam is the best way to enjoy...take regular breaks with lots of restaurant / cafe's to chose from. Be mindful, that alot of restaurants are small - and pre-booking is essential to avoid disappointment like 't Zwaantje - traditional dutch food like never before!

I managed to visit all the important tourist attractions. The public transport was excellent and I enjoyed the architecture very much. There is so much to do in Amsterdam and I was impressed at the efforts that were made to try and keep the city clean. There were many highlights: Rijkmuseum Madame Tussaud The allies with all the interesting shops and restuarants The Canal Tour The churches THEN of Course Koningsdag!

Modern hotel with 24hrs reception and self service for check-in and check-out. The room had a lot of storage space, big shower and an espresso machine; the view from the 7th floor was nice. The hotel is located outside the city centre, but the location is very handy as it's just across the tram line stop that takes you to Amsterdam Central (about 30 mins); furthermore, the train station Lelylaan is a short walk away, and it will take you to Shipol Airport in about 15 mins.

Lovely modern hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Abdo in particular was great. Taking us outside to point out the directions to where we could get the bus into the city centre. Hotel was very clean. Although not in the most picturesque location and outside the city centre the availability of public transport made it an ideal base for our sight seeing. Plus only one stop on the train from the airport. Would happily book again if travelling to Amsterdam in the future.

We travelled primarily to watch Ajax v. Brighton in the Europa League. We had stayed at the hotel on a previous trip to Amsterdam in February and knew it was a great little hotel in a good location. We booked 4 rooms, two of which were next to each other as we'd requested. All four rooms were comfy and clean. The location is a short tram or metro trip into the city centre and quick and easy to reach from the airport. Would definitely stay again - thank you!

Dont go expecting a 5 star hotel, it is what it is, a decent budget hotel.. The location is great and the rooms are tidy. I go to Amsterdam regularly for cheap break for a night or 2 with a few pals and we generally stay in the budget hotels, this is one of the best budget hotels in the main area. I must say for the price this is excellent value for money. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't take my wife to this hotel but its ideal for a cheap break on a budget.

The house is a part of the farm in the middle of the field. The hosts are farm owners. They are very nice and gave us the kindly helps when we stayed The unlimited raw milk from their farm is exceptional! The house is on the ground floor. The BEST place for relaxing from crowding Amsterdam. Free parking is in front of the house. a short drive to park at P+R Noord and get the train to explore city center.

Everything, the hotel is really nice. It has self check in and check out which is super convenient. The rooms are nice and big enough with lovely lights and a tv that you can control from your phone. The bathroom had everything you might need. The best part is that even though this hotel is not in the city center it is well connected through a 5 min ride train. We will definitely stay here again.

The location of City Hotel was nothing to have any remarks on. It was close to almost everything in the city centre of Amsterdam and the Rembrant Plein was also nice with restaurants and trams close to the hotel.
