Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Stayed one night prior to our flight departure, and it was more than adequate for this purpose. Room was clean, beds and pillows were fine, shower felt great, and breakfast was good. A fairly short drive to the airport, depending on traffic of course.

Built on seven hills facing the Tagus River, charming Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world. It showcases unique tram rides, intimate Fado performances, great dining venues and much more.
The city is famous for its districts: Belem's famous monuments; Alfama's labyrinth of streets, bars and small shops; and trendy Alcantara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in Baixa.
Enjoy a walk through Jardim Botanico, admire the architecture of the Jeronimos Monastery or explore the Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese cuisine. No meal is complete without the famous pasteis de nata!
Getting to the city center is only a metro or bus ride from Lisbon Portela Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a friendly guesthouse or a cozy apartment, Booking.com has plenty of accommodations for your vacation in Lisbon.
Spread out your stay in lisbon.
One should stay in the outer areas of sintra ,Estoril and Cascais for four days or so and 3 days in lisbon city to experience the best of country side ,city and historic surroundings. Malls are great for shopping ,restaurants and cuisines from all over the world are available but eateries are open until 12 am in most areas. Uber and bolt should be used by tourists who are not used to metros and trains or are confused with bus and tram routes !the former is not expensive .

I was there for four days and spent most of my time walking or using public transport. The ubiquitous trams and buses are inexpensive if you get a day pass and can get you pretty well anywhere you want to go. If walking, be prepared for hilly ups and downs - not much of Lisbon is flat!
If you want to visit St. George's Castle, be prepared for long queues! Likewise, the famous tram 28 ride (if you plan to ride to the end and back it's worth waiting for the next tram rather than standing - most seats are taken by sight seers not planning to get off so you may end up standing all the way).

It is a beautiful historical town with modern areas developing. People are nice and soft spoken though hard to communicate if you do not know Portugees.
City has lot of narrow lanes, going down or up hundreds of feet. Lot of natural beauty though too much tourism and city is not kept clean or updated. Lot of historic Churches, Places, monuments. Ride on Tuk Tuk is a fun and one can see the whole city on it before choosing what really they want to go into. Tuk Tuk drivers are good guides of the town and many are cooperative to your needs. Tip them well and they will be your best friend on the trip.
If you book a trip from Lisbon to Sintra, Castle and other cathedral. It is OK nothing so great or scenic. You have to walk a lot on it. If you take private taxi be careful that you do not put yourself in a time limit as lot of time is wasted in going, traffic and lines to the monuments. We did not realize it and had a big discussion on it. Also how you pay by cash or by credit card right in advance. Paying by credit card if you are a non Portugees is best for conversion rate and pay always in Euro not in your native currency ( $, or any other).

Lisbon has retained much of the old world charm from 200...
Lisbon has retained much of the old world charm from 200 years ago. The decorative paving along most city sidewalks and in plazas references the history and geography of this hilly city. The core of the city is peppered with historic sites and neighbourhoods that are easily accessed and explored on foot and by tram, train and metro. Visitor services such as pedestrian elevators, funiculars and stairways facilitate the exploration, and numerous eateries provide convenient, picturesque places to rest and enjoy the views. The half hour walk down Avenida de Liberdade toward the Praça do Comércio at the waterfront was a favourite stroll for taking in the modern to the historic sights, especially the lovely cobbled Praça Rossio.
HIstoric accommodations in the heart of old Lisbon; excellent location for walking to sights and restaurants. Modern design in old building; tasteful and beautiful. The breakfast provided, the extra efforts the staff went to in order to make our stay a warm welcome was really what sets this small, luxury boutique hotel apart from any other we've stayed in. Coming back at the end of a day of exploring, being offered a glass of wine; chatting with other guests .. it felt like coming home. HIghly recommend. Would love to return.
Fantastic location - although I was in Lisbon for work, I still had tourist inclinations. The hotel could not be better placed for access to everything in the area a tourist would demand. I paid a little extra for an upgrade and it was worth every penny. The very quiet room had an “office” area and a fantastic shower in the bathroom. There wasn’t much to see through the windows, but I was there to walk around.
One of the best breakfasts ever. More a boutique hotel with some facilities, but a wonderful stay.
Everything… From being picked up from the airport in a Tesla (pipedream to own one of these) to the fantastic service we received by every person along the way cannot recommend this place enough. They even went above and beyond when we thought Lisbon was about to be locked down due to covid (it ended up being fine). The place itself is fantastic and the food is great too. Highly recommend the breakfast. My partner and I travel a lot and this is one of the best 4 star hotels we have ever stayed in.
Best experience to discover Lisbon. The property is impressive, in an old Palace. The staff is focused on every single small detail to make the stay a wonderful experience. Room was very very comfortable, the tailor made breakfast every morning absolutely terrific. The hotel has one of the best rooftop of the city and the view is to die for. The location is perfectly , beautiful view of the old city and the river and so close by to all the action.
I will definetely go back again in the future.
Close to the metro and airport links. Once you get to grips with the metro and in particular the bus service getting around was great fun. Some good bars and restaurants nearby and a lot cheaper than the city centre. Good size room and great shower, lifts might be a problem if the hotel was full, but for our stay it was fine. This is my 4th visit to the city and by far the best hotel so far, but not really 5 star quality but for the price an excellent hotel and no where near 5 star prices.
Well, don’t want you, all readers, to get it wrong, but this class of hotels are not usually available in this applications. It’s the best hotel by far, that I have been in. It is what a 5 star hotel should be. Besides that It’s brand new, the staff at front desk are just pristine. I ordered what I thought just a regular breakfast with granola-maple syrup-bananas-dry fruit etc, and I just had a explosion of flavors in my mouth, the ingredients are the best quality and freshness.
One of the best hotels I visited in Europe.
Very friendly staff, the lady who greeted me late at night at my arrival gave me a quiet room just like I asked, with a view away from the main street.
Breakfast is very good and inclusive, from omelette with bacon to everything you could think of. Breakfast schedule is until 10:30 AM so great even if you are not a morning person.
A 10 minute car ride from the airport and 3 short metro stops away from the city centre.
The staff was amazing. The room was a good size and the food was well prepared. I have stayed in a few 5 star hotels and although this hotel is not the Ritz or Intercontinental, but it has personality. The staff is extremely helpful and makes you feel welcome, not just another guest. The gym is small but capable. The hotel massage was wonderful (highly recommended). Recommend this hotel for visiting Lisbon. Will definitely be back.
5 star in every way. I was having a hard time figuring out which hotel and neighborhood to stay in in Lisbon and this hotel checked all the boxes. First of all, it's literally a mansion. There are only 6 rooms so you feel like you are at a friend's mansion. The breakfast was included and amazing. you can eat on patio or in your room. Its such an amazing hotel and staff, it was hard to leave.
Stunning hotel, set in a super central location in Lisbon. Pure luxury. Stunning rooftop bar with sweeping views over the city. It was one if the best hotels we've stayed in across Europe. The staff were exceptional. From the amazing night staff, to Daniel and Maria - they accommodated our every request and went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable.
Exceptionally clean, extremely spacious, and beds were very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and attentive. They would reach out to me via WhatsApp to make sure I had everything I needed. Keyless entry made check in very easy. I would absolutely stay here again in Lisbon. Best aparthotel I’ve ever rented jn Europe and my mom and grandma both agreed :)
Super nice and helpful team. Changed my room as I asked and I was allowed to checkout later what was very convenient.
As I know, breakfast is not often option in Lisbon’s hotels. In Hotel Capital breakfast was rich enough 👍
And the best is location! 30 minutes away from the Airport (by bus or metro) and city center (by foot).
A fantastic Palacio to stay, in one word amazing. Great staff, delicious- extensive- high quality breakfast buffet, spa, super comfortable room, tram stop in front of the hotel, etc. Already stayed in many different 4 and 5 star hotels in Lisbon, also "palace-type" but Palacio do Governador is the real top class.
Everything it is the best hotel i stayed in very clean rooms comfortable and big good location and the staff was great help with everything and breakfast was perfect i love it planning to stay there again for sure it should be a 5 star hotel
Thanks for making our stay perfect
Excellent location. Staff was exceptional and so helpful. Best hotel I’ve stayed in Portugal. Beds were comfortable and small details like cold water in the fridge made the stay comfortable. Daily cleaning which is not the norm anymore - very appreciative of this luxury
5 star service throughout and you’re treat like a VIP. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in and can not fault the service of every single member we encountered. Hotel itself is beautiful with an amazing selection for breakfast.
Very polite staff specially Paula, she was very helpful and courteous, hotel is centrally located, breakfast was good, metro is just below, parking was never a problem, overall it's the best place to stay while in Lisbon.
great location, quiet street. very lux finishing yet spacious apartments, which are v well designed. everything you would need in a flat is there. you have the best of both worlds of loft/apartment and 5 star hotel
If i ever gave 5 stars to a hotel, I didn't know what I was talking about.
This has been the best hotel I have been to, the beds felt like sleeping on clouds, and the room was spacious and comfy.
