If you are interested in history and culture, this is the city for you. Beautifully restored remains from all periods of the city's history. Because of this, however, the historic quarters are always full of tourists during the day, and there is a surfeit of shops selling souvenirs. The streets are cobbled and steep, so be prepared to work hard! We were most interested in the Jewish Quarter and this did not disappoint, with many historic buildings well preserved and accessible. For a popular tourist city it was disappointing that much of the exposition in many of the monuments and historic buildings was only in Spanish. This is, however, a common problem in Spain, despite the fact that the majority of tourist speak English. (We live in Valencia and it's the same here). The tourist map. free from the tourist office, has an English version but the streets are so narrow, with so many small plazas, the, despite the fact that we enlarged it, the map was difficult to use. We would recommend buying a better quality large-scale map.
Food-wise, there are many good restaurants with a wide range of cuisines and all our experiences eating out were good or excellent.

Just an amazing, wonderful city.
Just an amazing, wonderful city. So many fascinating places including the white synagogue, El Greco museum, Cathedral and the general ambiance of the old city. We loved the tourist train that went around the city. It's a short (30 min) train ride from Madrid; book this in advance, they fill up, that's why we had to take the less desirable bus. Very walkable but realize it's all up and down, might be difficult for some people. Definitely stay overnight; tourists go home at night and you have the city to yourself. We ate at more or less randomly chosen little places that were uniformly good.

Tons of history, incredible beautiful cathedral.
Tons of history, incredible beautiful cathedral. Be prepared to walk tons of hills. You’ll like this if you are into historic buildings and history; otherwise you’ll be disappointed with other areas like entertainment and dining venues.

The old city of Toledo looks magnificent from the parador or from across the valley. There is an attractive river walk outside the city wall with historic bridges which lead up to the city. There are many cobbled streets to wander around but we couldn’t find a quiet traffic free square to enjoy a coffee and people watch. For me, the skyline was the most memorable part of my visit.

Beautiful storybook-like old town. Great food everywhere.
Beautiful storybook-like old town. Great food everywhere. Our faves were the churros and carcamusas. If walking is not for you, there's a cute train that you can ride to see the highlights without having to walk up and down the cobbled streets.
Perfect hotel in Toledo! Located right beside Plaza Zocodover, and very easy to find and get back to after a day of walking around the city centre.
If you go by car it's best you leave it outside the centre (there is a free park but the hotel also gives you a discount for an underground parking) and just use the escalators to go up to the Plaza, it's very easy!
The hotel was delightful, very comfortable, quiet and clean, and the staff very welcoming and helpful.
We were delighted with our stay and hope to get back soon!
Oh my goodness! Everything was great. This is a small, charming, family run hotel fairly close to the main attractions in Toledo. The room was lovely. The patio just outside my room had an amazing view of the town. The more or less continental style breakfast was perfect - served in the little cave-like basement. The staff members I met (Karima (?) in the breakfast room, and one of the owners) were kind and so helpful. I can't say enough in praise of this charming little hotel.
Small, cozy room that had gifts! The reception staff were so friendly and nice, the breakfast was the best we had on our trip through Spain and Portugal. No parking near the hotel, but there is a free municpal parking lot outside the city that you can park in and walk up to the hotel. The hotel location was excellent with lots of restaurants nearby. The rooftop terrace was also a beautiful place to watch the sunset. I would stay here again.
Best hotel of our trip to Spain. Very large room and very good breakfast. I was doubting if the distance to the city center would not be an issue, but there is a busstop just a few m from the hotel and every 10 min or so, there is a bus going to the center (were parking is expensive) and the bus is only 1,20 € per ride (to be paid in cash only).
Breakfast was great
The location and the staff members, both the receptionists, the lady and mister were very kind. The location is amazing, next to Alcazar. In raport with the price this hotel is fantastic. I will suggest it to my friends when they will visit this wonderful city.Thank you for making my visit in beautiful Toledo so amazing !
The hotel room was quite large and it was very clean and had views of Toledo from the balcony. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant below the hotel was outstanding. Our dog was made welcome and the gardens were great for her to walk in. The staff were nice and very helpful.
The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect within the romantic old town of Toledo. The rooms are slightly old but I personally love the flair of these kind of hotels. Also the hotel has a lot of common space and a fantastic rooftop. Staff was also very kind and helpful.
The hotel was in the heart of Toledo. The room was spacious, with a beautiful view from the balcony. The hotel has its character and you feel like "returning" to medieval ages. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good.
Good luck to all of them.
The location was extremely great. Room and bathroom were big , clean. The staff was friendly. Wish more variety of breakfast. The hotel hasn’t been renovated or updated but one can’t complain about the good value. I will go back there again if I go to Toledo again!
I think it is the BEST hotel in Toledo! Stayed the second time in this wonderful place. Quiet big rooms with comfy beds and nice bathroom. A room was given before check in time. Staff is very nice and friendly. Fantastic breakfast with wide choice.
one of the best hotels in Spain (that I was a guest) near the cathedral, we stayed for one night, very comfortable, old house but seemed new in the same time. Great bathroom, lots of small details, we didn't had breakfast nor we used the spa.
This house has the best location in all of the city, amazing view, super nice host, and all the amenities you need for your stay in Toledo. Parking is available and is a short walk away and free. The house is clean and well maintained.
We really enjoyed the hotel. It has an excellent location to explore Toledo. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of fruit, cheese, great coffee. There was an assortment of meat but I don't eat meat.
Unique hotel, very eclectic and well appointed. Hosts were amazing and the breakfast was good. Located just across from the entrance to the cathedral, so very central in Toledo. Great value.
Beautiful hotel located in the center of Toledo.. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable, and the staff were very nice and always there to help us
