If you are interested in history and culture, this is the city for you. Beautifully restored remains from all periods of the city's history. Because of this, however, the historic quarters are always full of tourists during the day, and there is a surfeit of shops selling souvenirs. The streets are cobbled and steep, so be prepared to work hard! We were most interested in the Jewish Quarter and this did not disappoint, with many historic buildings well preserved and accessible. For a popular tourist city it was disappointing that much of the exposition in many of the monuments and historic buildings was only in Spanish. This is, however, a common problem in Spain, despite the fact that the majority of tourist speak English. (We live in Valencia and it's the same here). The tourist map. free from the tourist office, has an English version but the streets are so narrow, with so many small plazas, the, despite the fact that we enlarged it, the map was difficult to use. We would recommend buying a better quality large-scale map.
Food-wise, there are many good restaurants with a wide range of cuisines and all our experiences eating out were good or excellent.

Just an amazing, wonderful city.
Just an amazing, wonderful city. So many fascinating places including the white synagogue, El Greco museum, Cathedral and the general ambiance of the old city. We loved the tourist train that went around the city. It's a short (30 min) train ride from Madrid; book this in advance, they fill up, that's why we had to take the less desirable bus. Very walkable but realize it's all up and down, might be difficult for some people. Definitely stay overnight; tourists go home at night and you have the city to yourself. We ate at more or less randomly chosen little places that were uniformly good.

Tons of history, incredible beautiful cathedral.
Tons of history, incredible beautiful cathedral. Be prepared to walk tons of hills. You’ll like this if you are into historic buildings and history; otherwise you’ll be disappointed with other areas like entertainment and dining venues.

The old city of Toledo looks magnificent from the parador or from across the valley. There is an attractive river walk outside the city wall with historic bridges which lead up to the city. There are many cobbled streets to wander around but we couldn’t find a quiet traffic free square to enjoy a coffee and people watch. For me, the skyline was the most memorable part of my visit.

Beautiful storybook-like old town. Great food everywhere.
Beautiful storybook-like old town. Great food everywhere. Our faves were the churros and carcamusas. If walking is not for you, there's a cute train that you can ride to see the highlights without having to walk up and down the cobbled streets.
Wonderful boutique hotel just a few steps from the Toledo Cathedral. Beautiful home restored with loving attention to detail. The manager, Violeta, gave us a warm welcome & offered options for restaurants and sightseeing. Nicely decorated room with coffee\tea service & comfortable bed. We had to leave early so there was a lovely to-go picnic breakfast ready for us in the morning. We highly recommend Casa Palacio & hope to return soon!

The staff is the most hospitable I met in Toledo. Alina has been the best host I met on my travels, and i travel a lot! She is attentive, kind, always looks for the small details. Gina is a kind hearted woman, amazing staff! Please never change your policy to provide personal service in a place where locals are unkind, even rude. Your hotel gave me hope
The apartment is wonderful and cute, the location is everything you need while visiting Toledo! The host was more then helpful, let us check in before check in time and helped with parking. We only stayed for two nights and didn’t cook much but you have everything in the kitchen! Waking distance from very good restaurants and all atracción!
Beautiful location in the old town of toledo. Quiet and far from the touristic side. Very near to all that was needed. We had breakfat in the old town each morning and found great places to eat for dinner. The hotel is very comfortable and warm. Everything worked well and was very elegantly done. Importantly for us the bed was excellent!
Clean and friendly staff, large underground parking and elevator to the room. The pool and area are nice to relax with a view to Toledo old town.
A Taxi to the Cathedral was about 10 Euro. We decided to walk back over the pedestrian roman bridge. That took us 25 min. from the bridge to the hotel.
The service provided by Juan. He was very helpful. The hotel is peaceful and away from the busyness of the center of Toledo. The breakfast was good quality at a good price. The location is beautiful; just be aware that to get to the center (e.g., the cathedral) is a 15-minute steep, uphill walk.
The location was amazing, right in the heart of Toledo.
Gregory attended to our every need, always with a smile and a helpful, polite and joyous manner.
The hotel has a wonderful aura, a beautiful relaxing smell and really interesting decor. Beds comfy. Breakfast lovely.
Everything was fantastic, from the room to the services to the food. I will definitely stay here again as i have to travel to toledo on a relatively regular basis. One of the best hotels i have stayed in. Best in Toledo in terms of Price to Quality ratio.
This is a kind of hotel where you feel sorry when you leave it. I wish I could stay some days more. So close to the old town ( not walking distance, but for the car ), but in nature. It will be my choice again when I back to Toledo without any doubts.
I think it is the BEST hotel in Toledo! Stayed the second time in this wonderful place. Quiet big rooms with comfy beds and nice bathroom. A room was given before check in time. Staff is very nice and friendly. Fantastic breakfast with wide choice.
The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious, and I had an amazing view of the old city of Toledo from the balcony. The continental breakfast was varied, and I also enjoyed the dinner at the hotel. I also noticed a supermarket nearby, just in case.
This house has the best location in all of the city, amazing view, super nice host, and all the amenities you need for your stay in Toledo. Parking is available and is a short walk away and free. The house is clean and well maintained.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Boutique Adolfo! Everything was amazing, the room , the location, the breakfast and most importantly , attentive staff , Veronica and everyone else! This is THE BEST place to stay in Toledo ❤️
It is a wonderful small boutique hotel close to Historical district. Nice rooms wonderful stuff and very good breakfast. The parking is very close which is so rare in Spanish mediaeval towns.
