There was a lot more to do in Toledo than we expected. We were worried that 4 nights would be too long but it wasn’t, we were busy every day. The cathedral is stunning, the best building I have ever seen.

If you are interested in history and culture, this is the city for you. Beautifully restored remains from all periods of the city's history. Because of this, however, the historic quarters are always full of tourists during the day, and there is a surfeit of shops selling souvenirs. The streets are cobbled and steep, so be prepared to work hard! We were most interested in the Jewish Quarter and this did not disappoint, with many historic buildings well preserved and accessible. For a popular tourist city it was disappointing that much of the exposition in many of the monuments and historic buildings was only in Spanish. This is, however, a common problem in Spain, despite the fact that the majority of tourist speak English. (We live in Valencia and it's the same here). The tourist map. free from the tourist office, has an English version but the streets are so narrow, with so many small plazas, the, despite the fact that we enlarged it, the map was difficult to use. We would recommend buying a better quality large-scale map.
Food-wise, there are many good restaurants with a wide range of cuisines and all our experiences eating out were good or excellent.

Just an amazing, wonderful city.
Just an amazing, wonderful city. So many fascinating places including the white synagogue, El Greco museum, Cathedral and the general ambiance of the old city. We loved the tourist train that went around the city. It's a short (30 min) train ride from Madrid; book this in advance, they fill up, that's why we had to take the less desirable bus. Very walkable but realize it's all up and down, might be difficult for some people. Definitely stay overnight; tourists go home at night and you have the city to yourself. We ate at more or less randomly chosen little places that were uniformly good.

Tons of history, incredible beautiful cathedral.
Tons of history, incredible beautiful cathedral. Be prepared to walk tons of hills. You’ll like this if you are into historic buildings and history; otherwise you’ll be disappointed with other areas like entertainment and dining venues.

The old city of Toledo looks magnificent from the parador or from across the valley. There is an attractive river walk outside the city wall with historic bridges which lead up to the city. There are many cobbled streets to wander around but we couldn’t find a quiet traffic free square to enjoy a coffee and people watch. For me, the skyline was the most memorable part of my visit.

The old city was interesting to explore with so much of the old walls still intact. You can see the sites in one day.
We caught the fast train from Toledo to Madrid (just over 30 minutes) on the other 2 days of our stay
The best part was the spa, this facility is great. The pool was very nice and the hotel in general has a very nice "grande" ambience to it. Its design is very attractive and the views from the balcony were breathtaking. The breakfast food was okay, some of the buffet options were very tasty, but I particularly liked the food at the bar. The burgers were cooked really well and tasted great! The room had the necessities but it was at least clean. I would definitely recommend getting a room with pool and city view - it's stunning!
Although not in the town centre, the location is perfect as it you get stunning views from up on the hill of the entire town including the central castle. This is the best part. The hotel is very pretty with nice rooms and good air conditioning. Parking is secure with a garage below keeping the car cool and protected from the sun in mid summer months.
Just be aware you won’t want to walk into town in the summer months as Toledo is exceptionally hot and has lots of steep hills. But the views are amazing.
It’s a family run Boutique hotel who are very kind and well mannered. Ready to help at all moments. The location is centrally located in one of the main squares of the old town . Transfer from Toledo train station is via a 15min walk. Since Toledo is all uphill there’s an escalator(see pic attached) which can be easily missed as it is situated within a public car park. This escalator takes you from the Puente de Alcantara up to the plaza de Zocodover.
The Hotel Sercotel Alfonso VI is extremely well-located in Toledo. It is walkable from the train station, especially if one gets good directions to the electric escalator under the town parking garage. The hotel sits at the top of a hill, close to the Alcazar, from which there is easy access to Toledo's diverse points of interest. The rooms are clean and generally well-maintained, and the staff is helpful.
The staff is the most hospitable I met in Toledo. Alina has been the best host I met on my travels, and i travel a lot! She is attentive, kind, always looks for the small details. Gina is a kind hearted woman, amazing staff! Please never change your policy to provide personal service in a place where locals are unkind, even rude. Your hotel gave me hope
Breakfast is wonderful, best breakfast I had compared to 4 other hotels in Spain...
Staff was very welcoming, I stayed for 1 night only, and was able to visit the important monuments in Toledo,
there is a free parking 15m from the hotel.
location is very good, its in the middle of the historical city, and close to the monuments.
Lovely hotel that matches the charm and beauty of Toledo. Good location as anything located within the city walls is! Friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed the breakfast which btw is not a buffet style but served on a large wood 'tray'. The rooms are large to very large and decorated in 18th and early 19th century style.
Everything! It is a great base for visiting Toledo. The view and design of the hotel is complementing Toledo. The room is spacious and the beds are comfortable. The staff is amazing. Our flight got delayed and we arrived at 3am and they were waiting for us with a smile and a warm welcome. 🙏 Thank you
the hotel itself is curved like an amphitheatre and sits on top of the hill with stunning views of the old town castle, river and bridge great if your a GOT fan… the room very clean with super king bed lovely bathroom and they are very PET FRIENDLY thanks was perfect start to our holiday 😃💯
The location was amazing and the lady who runs the hotel was really helpful. Even though she didn’t speak a word of English, we managed to communicate every single time. Very clean room and a wonderful breakfast in the courtyard. I would recommend this place for a great Toledo experience.
Staff very attentive & personable. Very quite location. Great atmosphere. Only a 5 room boutique hotel so my husband & I felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. We enjoyed the quite, relaxing rooms in caves below listening to the music of the this wonderful place!
The hotel was located in the center of Toledo, and the price was cheap, but it was completely remodeled and very clean. Staff was very friendly. I can confidently recommend it to anyone. I will stay at this hotel next time if I visit again.
Hotel Boutique Adolfo offered a superb stay with a view of the main plaza. Veronica, the fantastic manager, ensured our experience was exceptional. The location was perfect for exploring the city, and the hotel exuded charm.
Good location when travelling by car to Toledo as this hotel is just outside of the old town of Toledo and parking is feasible at the hotel or nearby. Easy access to old town on about 10 min walking time.
Super clean, modern rooms, great value. We stayed just one night, would have liked to stay longer. Easy parking. A bit of a ride to Old Toledo and restaurants, but can highly recommend this hotel.
Top location at the edge of the old town of Toledo, everything on walking distance.
Comfortable room, bathroom with bath.
Nice bar at the opposite of the hotel, with delicious white sangria.
The apartment is beautiful and comfortable. The location is excellent. The street sounds add to the Toledo experience and the view from the bay window is the best!
