Krakow's Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers a wide range of activities. You can visit there St. Mary's Basilica, The Cloth Hall, St. Florian's Church. Not far fom the square is Czartoryski Museum . This is much more than an art gallery. It is a history museum with fine exhibits. The museum itself is a fantastic building. Da Vinci's masterpiece The Lady with Ermine is displayed here, also Rembrandt painting. Other sightseeing is Wawel Castle - fascinating with some unique features. Jan Matejko Museum is worth visiting. Kazmierz The Former Jewish District - a great place for street food, a lot of bars and restaurants. We had a wonderful visit to Krakow, surpassing our expectations. We stayed close to the Old Town. It was beautiful, vibrant, clean; with so much history and historical buildings all around. The weather was iffy the day we'd hoped to go to Zakopane, but we would definitely have rescheduled if we'd been staying longer. We loved the walking tours in the Old Town and in Kazimiercz. Kraków is a gem of a city.
Kraków is a gem of a city. My favorite place to visit and a place I have visited many times over the past 17 years. In fact, I lived and taught there for an entire year, 2015 to 2016. With every visit, the city seems to shine even more, offering a feel of a home away from home.
