Great location, beautiful views, very nicely renovated old house turned into a hotel, decent breakfast. A little steep to drive but expected as it's a mountain village.

From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I knew my stay at this hotel would be something special. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and an efficiency that spoke of their professionalism. The check-in process was smooth, and I was pleasantly surprised by a great breakfast in the morning. The hotel has a stunning view and it sits in the heart of the town, magical place. Thank you Kiki for the warm welcome and the evening drinks with homemade liquor!

The location is one of the only redeeming factors. It's right by the main square. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I will be amiss if I did not stress how welcoming the receptionist was.

While Makrinitsa in Pelion remains as enchanting as ever,...
While Makrinitsa in Pelion remains as enchanting as ever, it's crucial to highlight the aftermath of the 2023 flood, which has left the roads from Volos to the village in disrepair. Navigating these roads, particularly at night, can be perilous, warranting caution and attention from travelers, especially those with cars. Despite this challenge, Makrinitsa's beauty perseveres, offering a worthwhile destination for those willing to plan their journey with care.

Amazing place, Makrinitsa is the jewel in the Pelion...
Amazing place, Makrinitsa is the jewel in the Pelion mountain. It's only 12 or so kilometers from Volos and is easily accessible by car. However, keep in mind that the village is a strictly pedestrian area, so finding a parking spot in the parking at the village entrance could be a challenge. Get there early to beat the crowds and maybe you'll get lucky.
There are a number of very good traditional Greek tavernas that you absolutely need to visit, many souvenir shops you can spend a few euros at, and a wonderful cafe with the best portokalopita and karidopita you can find.
And last but certainly not least, Makrinitsa and the mountain Pelion offer many hiking treks you can follow.

Beautiful place but a bit "commercial"!
Beautiful place but a bit "commercial"! It depends on the style of holiday that you want to have. In case you want to have the trail in your holiday maybe you have to consider also visiting the other side of Pelion. Makrinitsa is close also to Volos in case you want to have a drink or taste local food. Overall a beautiful place to have a short trip!

Excellent views from almost every point in the village.
Excellent views from almost every point in the village. Tons of character, with the cobble paths and the traditional houses. Just a note, getting around the upper part of the village is a proper hike. Everything you need (restaurants, shops etc) are on the lower part though so no worries :)
The breakfasts were really lovely. A little different every day and there was always something freshly baked or prepared by our hostess, who was so friendly and full of answers to all of our questions. The inn was thoughtfully decorated and modernized without sacrificing the special quality of the Pelion region. We especially loved the night that we returned early and got to visit with all of the members of the family over tea and homemade snacks.
The house is in the southern neighbourhood of Makrinitsa in Koukourava. The location was very beautiful at the edge of the village with very nice view. The house itself was spacious, in the ground floor the kitchen, bathroom, dining and a bedroom and on the upper floor two bedrooms and a wc. The kitchen very well equipped and with basic supplies (coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, rusks, snacks etc). The host offered us a bottle of wine.
I choose the place because of the view on the Pagasic Gulf, and its really nice, the room in wood style was very nice. At the heart of Makrinitsa village near very good restaurants , I was wined by the quality of life and the relationship , the owners are very friendly and helpfull, the delicious homemade breakfast on the terrasse with the view is very romantic. It's a good place to discover by car the Pelion area.
Amazing hosts and value - felt like a second home in greece with a caring family. Sweet details throughout the rooms and property, really great place to stay in Makrinitsa for a solo traveller (or with more people). Note that you will have to leave your car/taxi at the car park about 200m away from the guest house. Location is perfect and I highly recommend for a relaxing mountain stay.
The location is fantastic in a corner of heaven. Located in center Makrinitsa, a mountain village overlooking Volos and the sea, the view is spectacular. Around there are trees as old as the world itself....
The hosts are amazing people, I loved the room and the breakfast is very good 😊. We were three people and a border collie and I will definitely come back again ❤️.
Christina and her family were more than hospitable and friendly! Their welcome was very warm, facilities exceptional and an exquisite breakfast waiting for us each morning! We are happy to say we made some new friends and definitely coming back at our next stay in Pelion. Absolutely recommend for anyone who wants to feel like home away from home
Everything. This place has a soul. It’s soul - Kiki the hostess. She took care after us, she was our guide, source of information about the area and our friend. Can’t thank her enough for 3 amazing days in Pelion.
Just to add - breathtaking views from the room and the patio, the best breakfast of our trip, comfortable and restful stay.
Amazing views and warm hospitality by all staff members. Convenient parking with lots of space. Ask the staff for restaurant and cafe recommendations in town. Everything they suggested was amazing. Worth visiting Makrinitsa and the nearby towns for the beautiful nature, breathtaking views, and fresh mountain air.
The setting is fantastic and the accommodations are excellent. The hotel is very close to a good restaurant, kardamo, which serves wonderful food. The host is exceptional, offering great local advice. My daughter wants to come back with a group of her early 20s friends next year because of the authenticity.
A family run hotel with exceptional service. Ms Kiki and her family went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make our stay enjoyable. She arranged a taxi tour of the region, fed us, arranged for laundry, and was so friendly. This place is one of the best hotels i've stayed in. Can't wait to return.
The house is big and cosy and can easily accommodate 6-10 people. We liked sitting around the fireplace and there is an incredible view. It was very clean and warm and whatever we needed we could call John to assist. Makrinitsa is a beautiful village and is quite close on foot.
The owner personally cooked breakfast for us... and another 15 people judging by the amount of food she put on our tables :) She gave us lots of interesting suggestions on what to visit in Pelion. The place is in an excellent location and it has an amazing view.
The Staff was amazing. Friendly and helpful. They make your amazing stay even better. The hotel itself is perfect. It maintains the feeling of old local houses while being equipped with the every technology needed to make your stay smooth and comfortable.
Second time at Selina pelion this week. We had such a great time that we had to come back. Everyone were so nice and the rooms are the best in pelion. Also breakfast had some vegan options !!!
Everything was perfect. The owners are very kind.
The hotel is close to the center of the village. The rooms are big, very clean and we had a nice view. The breakfast was very good.
