With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.
Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it has the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.
Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try them than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.
To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur and, based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.
With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels available in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes it an easy choice.
Excellent city trip with family. One day is sufficient to visit parliament building in the morning and evening the buda castle. One day to visit Zoo and botanical garden. One need to buy ticket in advance to visit parliament or go there at 8am to buy the entrance ticket. One day to visit opera etc..

Budapest is a large city.
Budapest is a large city. We were there for 7 days but we could have stayed another few days. Transport is excellent and all the tours we undertook were very good. Not as pedestrianised as much as Prague but would definitely revisit in future. Walk as much as possible to see everything.

Prior to my visit, I was under the impression that Budapest...
Prior to my visit, I was under the impression that Budapest could be fully explored over a single weekend. However, I quickly realized how mistaken I was; the city has far more to offer than could ever be squeezed into just a couple of days.
The soul of Budapest is vividly apparent in its vibrant streets, historic buildings, and the warm, welcoming nature of its people. From the stunning vistas at Fisherman's Bastion to the tranquil waters of the Danube dividing Buda and Pest, the city's scenic beauty is unparalleled. Budapest is not just a feast for the eyes, but also a hub for cultural activity, boasting an array of museums, theaters, and galleries.
It is a city that promises safety and a welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure.
In conclusion, Budapest is much more than a weekend getaway; it is a city with a soul and an array of experiences waiting to be discovered. Whether you are a history buff, a lover of arts, or simply in search of a pleasant and safe European escape, Budapest will not disappoint.

We stayed in Budapest just for the couple of days, but we...
We stayed in Budapest just for the couple of days, but we were amazed by its beauty. Ensana Grand Margaret Island Hotel is beautiful. We were welcomed by the amazing staff at the reception. They were helpful and very professional. They all speak English, so it was easy for us to communicate. Our room was spacious, the furniture was amazing, our bed was very comfortable. We could see the Danube river from our window. Breakfast in the beautiful restaurant offered the variety of different types of salami , ham, fish, cheeses, breads , pastries, fruits, juices and much more. Spa and wellness facilities are part of the deal. After a very long flight from Australia, it was a very special gift for us , helping us to recover faster .
We are coming back to this hotel very soon.
Public transport from Margaret Island take you to the city. You can walk around the city of Budapest or book some tours . Dining options are huge. Our next trip to Budapest will be much longer , to give us an opportunity to explore this special place much more.
An exceptional, boutique Hotel in a quiet area of Budapest. From the moment we arrived to our departure we were treated with professionalism, friendliness and kindness from all the staff. Exceptional design choices in our room as well as the Hotel. Beautiful garden, delicious breakfast and delicious lunch in their restaurant. Parking is on the property and the location of the Hotel is within easy walking distance to public transport to the City Centre. We loved our few days here and hope to return.
The Hotel is perfectly located in the city center, all the best places in the city are at 10-15 minutes walk or within 1-2 metro/tram stops.
The staff, from reception to breakfast, was absolutely amazing and very helpful with every need and request we had.
The room was exactly as described in the images, and the bed was very comfortable.
Bottom line - Great pick for the best Budapest experience :)
Absolutely fantastic hotel. The rooms are huge, and brilliantly decorated. Hotel is centrally located, and although city centre in the busy Pest side of the city, the windows were quad insulated - no noise whatsoever.
Staff were excellent, and overly helpful. Genuinely fantastic hotel. I will return to this hotel when I return to Budapest in the future for work or holidays.
The hotel is in a very handy location for the main areas of Budapest - very close to the Castle area and just across Elizabeth Bridge to the city centre. The hotel is very quiet and also close to many parts of the (very efficient) transport network, with tram and bus stops only a few minutes' walk away. Breakfast was good and set us up well for the day!
Breakfast was grand! The room new and up to date wonderfull shower! the SPA is fantastic, thermal baths weer devine!! outdoor pool sun tarras great! quiet in the rooms very well isolated! Situated on the island in the city centre! Sziget island is the central park of Budapest! If you go to budapest stay at this hotel! you'll be amazed
Stylish hotel with great city centre facilities plus a pool and spa. The staff were excellent. Concierge service was brilliant from booking restaurants to helping track down our missing luggage. Breakfasts were amazing - probably one of the best egg chefs ever!! And check out the cocktails in the bar
The best thing about the hotel was the location. It was almost close to the center of Budapest, not to brag about this. The room was warm and Wi-Fi was everywhere even for the strength that was medium. Breakfast was great and we had the chance to choose between a variety of things to eat.
The owner was very kind and accepted our booking a few hours before new year's eve. A cozy nook right in the center of Budapest, it had everything we needed to spend the night and get up and running in the morning. We've spent nights in hotels that offered way less for way more money.
Staff were very friendly , location was great very close to the bus station , quite area , room was so clean , I loved the nice smell in the lobby, in general it was a great experience where I believe that whenever I'm in Hungary / Budapest I'll be with the hotel again
The location was excellent, right in the center of the city. The breakfast was very good, and there was a wide variety. If I were to come back to Budapest, I would stay at the same hotel again. The only negative comment is that the extra bed was uncomfortable
super location, tram, bus to airport & city Centre, and to almost all the places of Budapest, was just down the building. Hotel was perfect with spacious rooms, good green view, comfortable beds and nice coffee selection. great restaurant down the Hotel
The hotel location in a green residential area, easy to reach by car from Budapest's city centre.
The view from the room was very nice.
24h reception.
Free parking.
Cleanliness.
Mosquito nets on the windows allow to keep them open anytime.
Comparing to other hotels in Budapest City Center, this hotel offers the best price. The room was so big and comfortable. It was better than I expected. If I travel again to Budapest I will stay at this hotel again. Greetings from Azerbaijan!
Very nice apart hotel in the center of Budapest. We stayed in a 2 bedroom ap with our two daughters. It was perfect for our family. Everything was a walk close to the hotel. The room had everything we needed, was very warm and not too noisy.
I like this hotel very much and this was not my first stay there. It is in city centre, with good breakfast, clean but basically furnished. Enough for feeling comfortable for short stay. Also well located for exploring Budapest.
+ location, I would say it's one of the best located cheep hostels in the city
+ Price, one of the cheapest places (if not the cheapest) that close to the city center of Budapest
We are regular guests, still returning back when we stay in Budapest so it says everything. Very comfortable hotel nearby city centre with everything you need.
