FAQs about hotels in Budapest

A City of Two Halves

With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.

Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it has the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.

Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try them than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.

To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur and, based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.

With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels available in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes it an easy choice.

    Is is a beautiful city.

Is is a beautiful city. Great restaurants, easy to use public transport. Affordable and safe! I loved the castle tours. I ate at Mazel Tov, amazing mediterranean/israeli food, 100% recommend a lunch here, the vibe of the greenhouse/ upscale ruin-bar was beautifully unique. Nothing I would avoid in Budapest. Just make sure to plan your trip in advance and book things to do online. Was in a long que at the Thermal bath I visited. But all in all, an amazing adventure!

Lots to see; very friendly people; wonderful thermal baths; lots of interesting art galleries and museums, although watch for changing opening hours around bank holidays! Best things we visited - English bookshop with friendly owner on Castle Hill, National Museum and National Art Gallery, Geller Thermal Baths, Great Synagogue, Miksa Roth Stained Glass museum, György Ráth Villa. Less keen on the House of Terror - politically slanted, unfriendly & claustrophobic.

Our overall experience was great. Hotel's location was marvellous. Just in the city centre and extremely close to some of the best touristic places (5 minutes walk from St. Stephen's Basilica, Shopping Centers and the river). Their stuff was extremely nice and polite, always willing to help and answer any enquiries. The apartments were great. Spacious, extremely clean, good WiFi, compromised with fully functional kitchen and large dinning area. Our kids really loved the living area where they spent a lot of time playing around.

The location is perfect- walking distance to the city centre, near to 2 metro stations & a tram station (from different directions), it’s a peaceful area even though it’s located somewhere around the heart of pest, Budapest. The room is comfortable & spacious for a family of three. Everything is clean including the bathroom. The service is really good & helpful. There are no convenient supermarkets nearby to go to at night (to buy water) but the restaurant next to the hotel lets us buy bottle of water from them.

The boat has an amazing view of the Parliament building and enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck is priceless. Breakfast was really good and diverse. The bathroom is quite small, but it is a boat after all, so that was not a big issue. The room was very clean and the staff always friendly, polite and helpful. Parking is available close by, so the hotel is a great option if you want to avoid the crowded areas in the center where access by car is limited, but still feel an authentic Budapest atmosphere.

The hotel is genuinely a palace, the restaurant being a former ballroom for the palace. Everything that we saw was to a very high standard. The position of the hotel is perfect for seeing Budapest being literally a few yards from the Parliament building. The staff were very enthusiastic and helpful. It is very near to a local Metro (underground) station which is brilliant for exploring either the Buda or the Pest side. The bedroom was surprisingly quiet for a city centre location. Highly recommended!

The location of this hotel is perfect for a trip to Budapest. Took the bus from the airport to the city centre and then a 5 minute walk to the hotel. So close to absolutely everything we walked everywhere the whole weekend. Very modern and contemporary design. A big hotel a bit far from the center, but that is not the problem for visiting all attraction of the wonderful city of Budapest as there is a metro station next to the hotel, as well as tram and bus stations with lines to almost all parts of the city. There is an underground parking lot of the Arena Sports Center behind the hotel. Room was fine, clean and comfortable, it was good value for money if you exclude poor wi-fi.
