Cornaro Hotel, hotel in Split

Located in the center of Split, just a 2-minute walk from the UNESCO-protected Diocletian's Palace, Cornaro Hotel offers a rooftop terrace with a hot tub and a bar, as well as free WiFi and a 24-hour...

We loved our stay at the Cornaro Hotel! The hotel was beautifully appointed, in the perfect location in the old town of Split which made it easy to get in and out of the city if you’re traveling by car. The room was modern and spacious and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. We also loved that it had central air conditioning that was quiet. One of our favorite things about the hotel was their roof top bar! The views were spectacular!! It was the perfect spot to watch the sunset! On top of that their breakfast buffet was substantial and impressive with a large variety of dishes, breads, salads, fruit, desserts etc. We were also very impressed with the staff. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and extremely helpful, thank you for an amazing experience. We will definitely be back!

Hotel Villa Diana, hotel in Split

Hotel Villa Diana is a small family-run hotel situated in the center of Split, near Split's ferry port.

We stayed here the first two nights of our visit in Croatia. We hit some travel snags immediately when phone plan didn’t work and I needed a pharmacy for a crucial medication. Bojo and Marco were so kind and helped us get what we needed. The staff took the time to converse with us because we were very curious about day to day life in their country. For such young men, their people skills were excellent. The young men in the restaurant were equally great and greeted us with a smile whenever we arrived back at the hotel. Overall friendly atmosphere that made us feel so welcome. Should also be noted that the hotel was only 2 or 3 blocks from the market and the Palace and harbor. Very convenient. Easy walk for anyone who doesn’t want to drive or taxi.

Dioklecijan Hotel & Residence, hotel in Split

Boasting an outdoor swimming pool on the top floor with panoramic views over Split, Dioklecijan Hotel & Residence offers a wellness center and a restaurant.

This is the best hotel I have ever been to... From amenities and cleanliness to nice and helpful staff. They deserve more than 5 stars. There isn't anything that this hotel hasn't thought of providinig to the guests. The rooms are cleaned every day, every inch of the hotel is perfect and spotless. There is a library, a piano, a pool table for those looking for some entertainment and there are jacuzzi, saunas and steam bath for those in need of relaxation, which are also the cleanest I have been to. The breakfast is great, all varieties of food for everyone's needs. The rooms are very spacious and stylish. All in all, the most perfect place for you and your friends or family to stay when you want to see the gorgeous city of Split. I recommend them wholeheartedly and I will definitely go back. Thank you Dioklecijan's hotel &residence. It has been a real pleasure staying with you!

FAQs about hotels in Split

The Sunny Side of Croatia

Stunning Split stands proudly on the eastern shores of the Adriatic Sea, and due to its great climate is called the Mediterranean Flower. It features eclectic architecture, spectacular views and delicious cuisine.

Split is centered around the ancient Roman Palace of the Emperor Diocletian, a magnificent building constructed at the beginning of the 4th century AD and featuring limestone and marble towers, columns and courtyards. It lies in a bay decorated with white sails of yachts, as sailing is definitely Split’s big thing!

The city is full of architectural gems, one of which is St. Duje’s Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in the world, built in 305 AD and combining both Roman and Catholic influences. Nearby Varoš is a must-see, one of the city’s oldest parts, full of charming streets and beautiful houses.

Make sure you visit the Bačvice Beach and the Riva promenade, popular with locals and full of cafés and palm trees. While on the hunt for local specialities, try soparnik - wood fired dough filled with vegetables - or local soft drinks Pipi and Orela.

So just pack your bags and head to Split Airport! Booking.com has plenty of sunny apartments, friendly guest houses and well-equipped hotels for your Split adventure.

Split is nice beautiful city to be.

Split is nice beautiful city to be. Nice beach and if you are spot on easy to find parking places too. 2 days are enough to have quick visit and explore the city. We spent one day to explore the old city and one day to explore the beach. You can do boat tours too and many other water sport activates are possible too. More information will be come on my youtube channel, Joy Food Traveller.

Split is a beautiful historic town, only spoiled by too mant travellers and cruise boats. When we arrived our boat was moored with 3 others and our rooms were in darkness with no morning view to enjoy. Like Venice, it's best to get out early to enjoy the many lovely streets and historic buildings. Split came at the end of a cruise when we couldn't face another big meal. A fish and chip shop just off the main square was recommended to us and we very much enjoyed a freshly cooked meal perched on stools in the shop! The owner made me promise to try the fried calamari next time and the sample he gave me was excellent.

Split has such a variety of things to offer!

Split has such a variety of things to offer! From the 3rd century Diocletian's Palace to the seafront promenade to the nearby beaches to the range of restaurants to the delicious gelato on almost every corner, who could resist a visit to this pleasant city! A spring or fall visit is ideal, as high summer temps would likely mean that heavenly gelato just melting down your hand.

    Spilt itself was beautiful.

Spilt itself was beautiful. There is a lovely old style feel to the place with lovely stone walls and narrow streets. The bus drivers were very rude. On one occasion, they left us standing on the side of a busy road while coursing at us for not getting the first bus even though that bus driver had closed the door and refused to let us on. It was quite expensive on the main street, but there were some lovely restaurants sown the side streets that were cheaper. The market is lovely and has great quality food as well as stuff People were friendly. It was such a relaxing place.

Split was wonderful. Lots of bars, restaurants and clubs. Lovely walks and a beach nearby. You can book trips to various places if you want to see some of the fabulous islands. We went to Krka waterfalls which was stunning. Our host Elena was fantastic and very knowledgeable. We also continued with a trip to Trogir. Hvar is a beautiful island. Fabrique was a nice place to eat. It is very expensive in Croatia. 2 alcoholic drinks cost 28 euros!! Dining out is costly so take plenty of euros.

Stayed 3 nights in the deluxe studio apartment which certainly lived up to its name. This place is simply gorgeous. Well laid out and beautifully furnished. Plenty of room for 3 people to stay, with both a double bed and sofa bed. The bathroom is huge with one of the best walk-in showers I've ever experienced. Great communication with the property before and during my stay, including recommendations for local restaurants. An easy walk into the old town. This was one of my favourite places to stay in 2 weeks of travelling through Croatia.

Unfortunately we only stayed here 1 night before departing Croatia but it was enough to see just how beautiful this hotel is. We got a room in the recently renovated wing with seaview and it was incredible, felt like out of a dream. All staff was extremely friendly (front desk, spa, restaurant managers) and made us feel very welcomed as soon as we walked in. Could not recommend it enough. They have a beach club as well with direct access to the sea and food/drinks and DJ. Very fun and stylish hotel.

We stayed 3 nights at this property as part of a 15-day trip through Croatia. The hotel is excellent. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They spent time explaining things to do and directions to sites and beaches. The breakfast was delicious and the room for breakfast was beautifully decorated. You will see that room in one of my photos. The view from the room is beautiful. The location, from my perspective, was perfect. it was about a 10-minute walk to the old town and right on the water.

The room was really quiet despite the fact that there were 22 beds which worried me but it felt like a two bed room. The hostel is very clean (bathroom, kitchen, reception and everything). The girl at the reception spoke very good english and she was super friendly and welcoming! We also met really nice people at the reception so i generally had an excellent experience with the hostel and it is budget friendly. All in all, i’d definitely book again if i ever come to Croatia, split!

There was everything on the right place, I fell there like at home, maybe even better... People who own this place are just wonderful. You can tell them everything and talk to them at any time. And if you're lucky you can meet Kiki and Mimi (dogs). Old Town is really close, cool restaurants and cafes, you need to try croatian ice creams and donuts but be careful, it's easy to eat too many! I am young girl and I was there alone. I fell safe tho. Thank you for everything again.

The host was awesome! He greeted us with some local liqueur, cold blueberry juice, and cold water; and gave us a little parting gift when we left. There was also coffee for everyday of our stay. The bed was the most comfortable bed out of the 5 different rooms we stayed in in Croatia. A neighbor told us about a good deal for a boat ride to Bol, and it was much cheaper than going through the various companies in Split.

One of the best apartments on our visit to Croatia. The hosts were awesome and they have thought of everything that a guest may need and them more. Highly, highly recommend that property for anyone looking to stay in Split old town.

Everything. perhaps the highlight stay for our time in Croatia. Easily accessible, within the old town walls of Split. Great restaurant right below us. You can tell the host/owners really cared.

Highly recommend! Great location, super friendly host, who waited and welcomed us to the place. After one week in Croatia this is No doubt best apartment hotel according to us.
