Built in 1750, the Ofenhaus was originally used for baking bread and is situated next to the owner's farm house 1 km from the centre of Murten. It was transformed into a modern studio in 2013 and offers free WiFi and a fully equipped kitchenette. We loved staying at the quaint little ‘Ofenhaus’! It was everything we expected, based on the Booking.com description, and maybe even a bit better. :) The cleanliness was exemplary! I really am quite exacting concerning hygiene — and this place was literally spotless! The whole place smelt of fresh laundry when we walked in — it really doesn’t get any better than that! The water temperature and pressure in the shower are great! Since both my husband & I have long, luxurious hair, this is a crucial point for us. Many holidays have been ruined, alas, because of bad (cold, weak) showers — but not at the ‘Ofenhaus’! Everything works to perfection! The location is really quiet & calm, but the beautiful medieval town of Murten can be reached on foot (via a short walk of 1km). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely book the ‘Ofenhaus’ again if we happened to stay in the area in the future!

The Chambre Littoral 65 is situated close to the A5 motorway and halfway between Neuchâtel and Yverdon. The owner offers the opportunity to pick up people arriving by train in Gorgier or Bevaix for a small fee. Rosemarie was a wonderful host. She asked us what we preferred for breakfast and she made sure everything was prepared. Very nice coffee, the real one from an Italian-style coffee maker. We will be back if we happen to visit the area in the furure.
