A truly wonderful experience. The food was the best I've ever eaten. Dinner was about 8 courses and seemed Michelin star quality to an amateur like me! The cabin we had with a large, private onsen was beautiful. The view of the mountain from the onsen was sublime. The accommodation was not extravagant or luxurious but authentic and comfortable. An experience we won't forget - magical.

It’s really value for money. There is internal shuttle bus available at 1030hrs, and the check out time is 1000hrs.

Superb service from the staff, especially Ms Yen and Ms Chabani Gopali and the chefs who made us two delicious dinners/breakfast the two nights we were there. Good onsen baths and good fun in the "walking" onsen and outdoor warm pools. Cabin was spacious and very comfortable. A big thank you for a very relaxing stay.

We had such a lovely time at Lodge Kiyokawa. Arrived a bit late after a long drive and Yuki was very helpful checking us in. The wooden 'huts' are a lot of fun, a great size, air conditioned and have fairly comfortable futon style beds. The property is in a really nice area right on the river with options for bike hire, rafting, saunas and much more. Unfortunately we didn't get time to explore it all, but we'll definitely be back!

Family operated. Warm, welcoming atmosphere. Ease on arrival with free shuttle. Relaxing indoor & outdoor onsens to soak sore muscles from travel. Delicious dinner & breakfast banquets of Japanese cuisines. All round great traditional Japanese experience. Warm & welcoming experience.

Meals were amazing. Great variety and so tasty, with a private dinner room. Onsen was excellent too, we enjoyed the private family onsen. Staff were really nice and we really appreciated the shuttle service on the way to the ryokan and back to the station. Location is great. Most Beppu hells within a walking distance and the last 2 can be reached easily by bus.

it’s just as shown on the photos . comfortable and clean with all the necessary essentials also with kettle and drinks available for us. best of all is the service . to cater to my group’s food allergy , there’s detailed exchange of messages to check and ensure the food is suitably prepared for my party with different allergies. we arrived later than planned due to long queues at the hakata station and missed our initial booked bus shuttle to the resort but the assistant specially arranged for an additional pick up for us ! superb service !!
