Merrill House, hotel in Picton

Located in Picton, 30 miles from Empire Theater, Merrill House provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

Merrill House is a boutique hotel, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay. I felt like was staying at someone’s home! The staff are exceptional. Friendly, funny and charming. We are definitely returning for longer this time. Our room was clean, the assortment of robes was a bonus. The bed quite comfortable. We also had dinner at Merrill House and it was impeccable. They were great accommodating my dietary restrictions.

The restaurant at Merrill House has an amazing chef. We had an outstanding dinner and breakfast. Food was like music in my mouth. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The Inn is a beautiful old mansion with cool modern art. Pictor has a lot to offer and so close to many attractions. Would recommend lake on the mountain, sandbanks and waupoos winery.

To be honest, there were not much restaurant so, the price is a bit higher and difficult to find the place during the pick time. There is one steak restaurant recommended by hotel, I had horrible experience. The price is very high comparing the portion of the food and unfriendly staffs. (I prefer the KEG) For the next time, I don't want to make the hotel reservation in Picton. I would suggest to go to Kingston instead.

It's a nice place. Nice and clean.

It's a nice place. Nice and clean. It's an old house, so the floors squeak. Not a big deal. It is a self check in and check out. I know there were "owners" there, we saw them when we arrived, but that was it. The phone left as contact did not answer. Emails about early check in were not replied. We checked in about 2 ours early and it was fine. Simple room (yellow rrom - twin bed and private bathroom) but they didn't mention the bathroom was in the hall, not in the room.

We enjoyed Picton. Recommend Royal Hotel for a great meal!

We enjoyed Picton. Recommend Royal Hotel for a great meal! Our lodging was far less than we expected and what we paid for, however. Electrical and fire hazards were among our concerns. There should be a way for our concerns (as explained in more detail in n the review of the Stone Carriage House - Barouche Suite) to be registered so that others who come after us don’t experience the same problems.

Such a cute town with many boutiques and restaurants! Houses are beautiful to look at, walk around and take photos! Cute park nearby to picnic or sit and watch boats! Town is near by foot or car. Would go back! Great restaurants like the Spanish one and yummy ice cream at Slickers!

Wonderful place for rest. We chose Merril House to celebrate my husband's birthday and have not regretted it for a second. Beautiful, clean, intimate, amazing team of staff. Dining was on par with restaurants on the Champs Elysees in Paris. Special thanks to concierge Sean, Dinner server Susan and Breakfast server Joselyne. Always smiling, attentive, ready to help at any request made our stay unforgettable. We will be happy to return and recommend to our children.

Quaint but nice. Nice coffee, tea, yogurt and fruit station to start the day. Nice touch of a box of chocolates for our anniversary. We really enjoyed our breakfast coupons which were very generous to cover a nice breakfast in 2 local restaurants. The Crepe Escape should have been marked ‘closed on Tuesday’…we were glad we decided to go there on Monday. Would have lost out on Tuesday. Close to harbour and downtown.

Our suite was beautifully decorated, the bed was very comfortable and it is dedicated parking. The location was perfect 5 minute walk from all the great restaurants in Picton and a short drive from other attractions in Prince Edward County. Also it’s in a tree lined neighborhood of other beautiful historic homes. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything thing you need to make a meal or just a cup of tea.

Staying at The Cape was wonderful! From the very moment my wife and I stepped in, we were immediately taken aback by how special we felt, being recieved with such warm reception. Jake especially made it easier for us to make good decisions on where to go for dining and entertainment - really giving us a great Picton experience! The breakfast was also incredible with fresh locally sourced ingredients.

The room was massive and modern. The ease of check in was amazing. However the thing about this place is the small details. Nice hardwood floors but the thoughtful touch of having a thick carpet just under and on either side of the bed so when you get out of bed in the morning you have a soft landing. Fresh flowers in the hall and room. Truly this is a 5 star hotel for a reasonable price.

Friendly and attentive hosts :) Room was large, very clean, super comfy large bed, nice big windows, beautiful washroom with a great shower. Honour system was a nice touch, with great locally sourced beers/wines. Breakfast was lovely, especially in the little nook at the front, tasty pastries, cheese and fruit.

Well located near restaurants and shopping. Easy to get around. It was lovely to wonderful to have a full kitchen for breakfasts and we especially liked sitting in the garden. The home was charming and comfortable. It far surpassed any hotel room or B & B. Towels were plentiful.
