Staff were great. Always seems to be problem finding the reservation when using Booking.com, but they were very friendly and found the reservation under my first name.

Beautiful artwork, clean and a nice area with multiple restaurant and shopping in a close distance. Only stayed one night to be close to the airport and it was around 30 min drive.

The food was amazing! They have a great chef and dinner / breakfast were both perfect.
Cute little town near the airport. Probably not a destination, but, if you have a night to kill before flying out, it's fine. Otherwise, there isn't anything I know of to draw visitors. Couple cute restaurants on the main street. Felt safe walking around after dark.

We did more in San Antonio than we expected to do. The church in the center of town was welcoming, and there are a lot of restaurants with good food and service. The bussing to other areas (San Jose and Heredia) is well marked and has an appropriate schedule. Plus, the area felt safe to walk after sunset. Because of its convivence, we extended our hotel stay to stay in the area, and only bussed to San Jose for the day.

For us La Rivera is a take off and arrival point, so the easy airport access is important. It is an easy walk to a phone store or Pali supermarket for some basics, and the local pista, church and park give you a safe introduction to Costa Rica. There is not much else to do in the immediate area.
This hotel was a gem! The photos did not do it justice. We booked it for our last night in Costa Rica and enjoyed it greatly. The surroundings and decor were tasteful. My husband also enjoyed a dip in the pool.
A big thank you to the staff members as they were exceptionally nice and helpful - I don't like coriander and the staff members did everything to make sure I would have no coriander in my food. If we go back to Costa Rica we will book a longer stay in this hotel as they also organise wildlife trips.
The lady checking us in was very friendly and helpful. She was also very kind to let us check into our room early. She also made sure to show us the room and made sure that everything was clean and working well inside. The room was also a great size and it included a full kitchen with appliances. That was a nice bonus. There is also an excellent local restaurant right across the street from the hotel, which was very convenient.
Had to leave at 03.00 so no breakfast, but porter made us a coffee whilst we waited for taxi. The hotel had an old-world feel - was spacious and the room was comfortable and clean. There was a decent-sized pool which we didn't have time to use. We had dinner almost immediately after arrival which was tasty and plentiful. The staff were friendly and obliging.
The hotel has beautiful gardens and a lovely restaurant and bar. We only stayed one night after a long flight from Europe so we didn’t eat in the restaurant, just enjoyed a couple of drinks before an early night. However breakfast was served on the terrace of the restaurant and that was excellent. The staff at the hotel were all really pleasant.
Felt very safe and looked after. As a 53 year old solo traveller this meant a lot to me. Staff were lovely Maura collected me from airport at home midnight and 15 mins we were at the hotel. Esteban on reception was very nice as were staff in the restaurant which had excellent food. Pool area was lovely as was the whole hotel.
We liked the on-site restaurant which is in a separate building in a large open air space. The staff communicated with us everyday to ask about our dining preferences for the next meal. For us, the hotel was just a convenient overnighter near the airport, but we could have stayed here comfortably for much longer.
Rachel the receptionist was just wonderful and the rooms were large and very well cleaned. In terms of proximity to the airport the hotel works - a short taxi ride. The hotel has a lovely pool and everything it needs to be a really great choice - yet I wouldn't choose it a second time.
Good location close to the airport, but not just a typical airport hotel. Good size rooms, super clean and friendly helpful staff. Decent complimentary breakfast too. We met an expat couple who always use this hotel when travelling in and out of the country and we could see why
The hotel is close to the airport. It has unlimited water and coffee at the reception. The staff is kind and helpful. I would suggestion learning some Spanish words here. The private room is quite big and has everything you may need as well as ventilation.
Hotel building was lovely and traditional older style.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly at front desk.
Pool was very nice.
Breakfast restaurant, meal, and staff were excellent.
Shuttle was efficient, friendly, on time.
I arrived in the late afternoon and took dinner at the hotel. What I enjoyed most was Rachel practicing English with me while I practiced Spanish. Very courteous and pleasant young lady.
The staff, grounds and restaurant of the hotel is wonderful. As is the proximity to the airport. Unfortunately, we found the bedrooms and hallways stuffy and dated a little bit.
Loved it - could’ve stayed longer :-) Such a great hotel with lovely staff, incredibly spacious rooms and perfect location for an overnight stay ahead of an AM flight!
