Ringwood was the ideal spot to visit the New Forest and surrounds. The Moors Valley Country Park is a five minute drive away. You could spend a full two days here, there is so much to do.
You can also visit Paultons Park which is 30 mins drive or Beaulieu which is also 30 minutes away. It is only 20 mins drive to the south coast beaches.
Ringwood has good amenities - supermarket etc.

Ringwood is a nice little village, with several cafes and restaurants. It is well situated for making trips around the countryside, but a bit close to a very large road (=traffic noise). There is not much to do in Ringwood itself (we visited family there)

Ringwood is a mix of chocolate box and modern.
Ringwood is a mix of chocolate box and modern. Huge choice of eating options from everyday to extraordinary. some "sourdough" places Frampton's and Bake House 24 and more everyday like café Aroma all three were great. the hospitality in every restaurant or Pub we visited was spot on.
Masala Indian take away also highly recommended.
The Cellar really cool, great vibe on a Friday night.
Pubs! The Railway and the Elm Tree also recommended for food and Beer.
Ringwood Brewery also worth a visit.
It's a great base for walks down the Avon but beware if the river is high it will be wet.
The Castleman Trail way is just south of the town and offers easy access on foot to the New Forest both North and South.
If you have a Car then I recommend the Rose and Thistle in Rockbourne. A brilliant base for walks in stunning country side.

The dislikes staff no attentive enough restraint closed at7 30 on a Saturday you had to find and ask for cutlery napkins at breakfast time did not like the fact you had spare furniture in room ie spare fold up bed room very cruddy not clean staff to young didn’t basically care about us guests room in my opinion only worth £50,00 per night
The host, Sue, was friendly and accommodating. She helped us out whenever we needed and introduced us to her lovely animals. The hamper filled with goodies blew us away, and the prosecco and beers were delightful. The room was cosy and romantic. We loved the chimenea outdoors and had it going every evening. There's nothing better than sipping a glass of prosecco with the fire going, watching the sunset! The location was great and was a short drive to most nearby towns. If you want a true New Forest experience, this is the place to stay!
A wonderful B&B where Mark & Sabine are friendly and accommodating. The location is great for both New Forest activities and easy access to many beautiful beaches and coastal walks. The rooms are roomy with very comfortable super king beds and the ensuite bathrooms are luxurious with everything you could need for a enjoyable stay. The breakfast is out of this world with fresh fruit, freshly baked goods and hot breakfast options - what a fantastic couple of days. We would return without hesitation - thank you Mark & Sabine!!
We stayed here for two nights in a four person room. The room was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. Ringwood is a lovely little town with great restaurants and cafes nearby and brilliantly situated for walks in the New Forest. The staff could not have been more welcoming, offering great advice on the local area. The breakfast was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend trying the Thai evening menu and local ale. Thanks Ian and team for making us feel so comfortable during our stay :)
The studio was extremely comfortable making for an enjoyable overnight stay. The tables and chairs provided in the garden and the BBQ are a bonus, We were most impressed by the owners who contacted us soon after we had left as we had inadvertently left a jacket in the wardrobe. By that time we were well on our way home, so they arranged to post it back to us. Great service!
Great location for touring the surrounding areas, eg New Forest, Poole, Bournemouth etc. Its near an industrial park, but the cottage is secluded and it’s very quiet. John, the host was very contactable.
Would recommend The inn on the Furlong in town centre for breakfast and The Old Beams Inn, a 10 minute drive away in Ibsley, is excellent for lunch and dinner.
Very quiet location with a patio area into the garden. Very comfortable accommodation with a lovely welcoming pack. There is a microwave and a full size fridge in the kitchen area. The owners were extremely accommodating and very friendly. Would definitely book again as location is perfect for exploring the New Forest.
• Distance to the New Forest and the coast
• Friendly hotel staff
• The town's takeaway options
• There were separate rooms at he back of the hotel which seemed very nice, away from the road and the punters being kick out after last rounds had been called. Would try and stay there if the option was available.
Clean and such a home from home feel. Safe space and one that all the family enjoyed. We had a fantastic greeting from Heather who was welcoming and kind and everyone started the break feeling that this was the perfect place to rest and see the New Forest. We will definitely be back but next time for longer.
The location is off the beaten track in the New Forest, but well worth it. Staff all very friendly and excellent service. Breakfast was very good, we asked if we could have breakfast early due to a early ferry crossing and it was no trouble for staff. In the top 10 of breakfasts I have had anywhere...
Everything. Lovely spacious and clean apartment, great location and base for exploring the New Forest and nearby coast. Lovely country park, pub and a shop all within walking distance. Tracy was a fabulous host and was just a quick message away if we needed anything.
Breakfast good with plenty of choice. Helpful friendly staff. Room had a walkway outside where I could stand and smoke. The town of Ringwood and the variety of restaurants and shops. Enjoyed the market day. Short distance to the New Forest and coast.
So lovely! An old thatched and quirky house, it’s really well situated for Ringwood shops and restaurants and the beautiful New Forest.. On arrival we were provided milk, cereal and a bottle of wine! really lovely touch :)
A very nicely furnished lodge with everything we needed and more.
A great location for the New Forest and the coast and in easy reach of Romsey and Salisbury too. Ringwood had a very good selection of places to eat out.
A fabulous spot to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
Good food, open fire, cosy & friendly.
Wonderful bath & bathroom, views of wild ponies from the window in the morning. Nice teas & coffees provided.
Shetland Cottage was perfect for our 3 night autumn stay. Very well equipped, clean, comfortable and cosy. Lovely location close to the New Forest and the coast. We would highly recommend this cottage.
The location is amazing. Right in the heart of the New Forest, we even saw a new foal being born. Wild horses all around. The staff here are friendly and the service is great.
Location was convenient for shops but very noisy at bed time. Didn't have breakfast because I wasn't happy about the general level of cleanliness in the hotel.
