Beautiful farm in a remote part of Iceland. We stayed at the hostel and went on a 2 hour horse ride. You can see seals from the beach. Our guide was super patient with me, a beginner rider, and it was one of the best tours we did in Iceland. The host was very welcoming when we arrived, as was her adorable dog Aska. We had the top part of the house to ourselves. Very lovely place.

We stayed at the Berjaya overnight as we were driving the N1 ring road, we visited the Vok baths, an absolute must if you are visiting Egilsstadir. It’s only a 5 minute drive from the hotel it was wonderful.ElizabethUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10
This was a great stopping point after driving the eastern...
This was a great stopping point after driving the eastern Fjords on a Sunday. They had a couple places that were open where we could eat, get gas and groceries. This town was a nice place to stay after driving through many of the lovely villages along the coast and before heading to Husavik. You're also close to Hengifoss and not far from Studlagil Canyon, though we only drove halfway down the road before we gt nervous with the icy road right on the side of a cliff.

We loved the tourist info center there along the lake with the Gunnar Gunnerson museum and restaurant. We had a great buffet meal there. We enjoyed the tourist rest area because the lady there spent time with us as we looked around at the exhibits. It was an unexpected surprise.

Good hotel overall.
Good hotel overall. Locally, we went to Vik Baths, very good experience. On our 10 day driving the Ring Road, we had already visited the Blue Lagoon. Vik Baths was an alternative to the Blue Lagoon, well worth visiting.

Small town, cannot say too much about it. We had here a stop and stayed at the Ormurrinn Cottages. Egilsstadir has everything you need to fill up for your road trip: supermarket & gas station ;-)

Practical location. A lot of to explore around the town. We were on a short travel and the weather was fine, so we didn't use a lot of services there. We are planning an other travel there because there are so much to do 😀

The hotel was very quiet, with nice, clean and spacious rooms. The diner facilities were good, and they were really helpful in preparing for us a 'take away breakfast', as we had to leave very soon in the morning to catch the ferry, All-in-all a very nice experience in a very comfortable, nice privately owned (?) local hotel!

The owner of the hotel was very helpful and moved us to a room in the annex of the hotel with a complimentary breakfast to make up for our disappointment. Breakfast was actually very good with lots of choice. The hot tubs were also good to relax in at the end of the day.
