Aalsmeer is close to Amsterdam to get in easily, but far...
Aalsmeer is close to Amsterdam to get in easily, but far enough away that the city does not swamp you. It is close to Amsterdam Bos, which is a massive park, filled with cycle paths. There is shopping and excellent cafes and restaurants. Close by also, is Amstelveen, and I can recommend Colijn restaurant, which is simply amazing. The tram into the Amsterdam is frequent and fast, or you can use RAI park and ride which we used several times because of the simplicity and cost. If you have a car, reaching places like Naarden and Utrecht is straightforward (and both recommended). There is so much historic and modern Netherlands within easy reach of Aalsmeer I can strongly recommend staying here.

Well, the Hotel is close to the Airport and you can feel a bit the airport, but was not as bad as I expected. The staff were very polite and nice. They helped us and guided us on how to visit the city of Amsterdam and where to park to be cheaper and easier to visit. The area around the hotel is nice with a lot of little canals. It was also convenient for us to take a 30 minute walk to where my relative lives. The breakfast was comprehensive, fresh and well laid out.
