We love to walk. I like that a rooftop restaurant and the Brew place were not too far. We actually walked our luggage to the cruise terminal. Which was not as daunting as we thought. A taxi was parked ready to take people to the cruise ship but we would have had to wait for two more groups to go. The bed was large and comfy. Air con was good. We had great fun exploring the shops, and harbourfront. During our stay we did a really fun jeep excursion.

Vairea was very kind and helpful. The location is perfect as it’s not far outside the city centre. Within walking distance and yet far enough from the noise. We enjoyed watching the sky change colours at sunset.
Offering a sun terrace and views of the garden, Fare D'hôtes Tutehau is located in the Farii piti neighborhood. It is 15 minutes' walk from the heart of Papeete.

The town of Papeete is very nice and the people are very friendly and welcoming. Had it not been for our unacceptable accommodations, we would have loved our stay in Papeete. If you go, be sure to stay at a reputable hotel and avoid private Air B&B places. We ended up staying at a dump and no hotel rooms were available because of a cruise that was leaving the next day.

Papeete at first glance could be a nice place to stay.
Papeete at first glance could be a nice place to stay. Warm weather, good food and drinks. Seafront promenade is just gorgeous. But a lot of homeless people and dogs are as decay for the city. Well, some of the US cities like Phili are the same...

The French influence in Tahiti is everywhere and I loved it.
The French influence in Tahiti is everywhere and I loved it. Food is amazing, I had great meals out and the Carrefour supermarkets are better stocked than my local supermarkets here in the UK. I just liked the vibe. There are lots of places to eat and drink, decent shopping to be had and I liked the people. The port where you can catch boats to other islands is in town too!

I enjoyed the Markets the most and the street stalls.
I loved the fresh pastries - especially the bread sticks
I found finding a place in town was better for us, as the cost for taxi's was very pricey.
I would avoid staying out in the suburbs and ensure to have an offline currency converter handy as there were times i got caught off guard and ended paying double the amount I intended.

Little to do in the city aside from shopping.
Little to do in the city aside from shopping. That all stops on Sundays entirely, and largely disappears on Saturday afternoons too. Public transport is almost impossible, not helped by the website or the tourism office. There are no beaches walkable from the city centre, so you're left needing to find a tour, a public bus (not on sundays though), or renting a car/scooter.

Papeete is a good destination. Don' stay at hotes downtown.
Papeete is a good destination. Don' stay at hotes downtown. Too hard n to get around with uneven footpaths and cars parked were pedestrians should have access. Stay at a resort west of the airport
Great location, very comfy well equipped apartment - lovely balcony area to sit outside - washing machine. good air con, lovely views on rooftop nice clean pool. nice breeze up there. pharmacy across road for tests, and 5 min walk to huge supermarket. close to airport & port. host provided transfers & great communication - big plus was great bakery outside and English Netflix. place was quiet and I got an amazing sleep. good bathroom and shower too. supply of tea and coffee. kitchen had everything I needed. spotlessly clean.
The staff were very nice and very helpful. Seemed like a tremendous set of workers who were interested in my welfare. I don't recall the Tahitian words being used here when I stayed at this hotel in 2014, so I asked the front desk to teach me how to pronounce the words that I needed. The hotel was relatively quiet and the beds were comfortable. They now have internet in the rooms. That is a big plus. I liked the place in 2014, but having internet in the room is a great improvement.
this place is really nice especially thanks to local owner which has been communicating with me before my arrival. to be honest i felt much more better then in normal hostel where is everything impersonally…the location is not the best one but still better then to be in the papeete… also the owner husband give me ride to Papeete the morning when i had been leaving which i appreciate a lot because it was Sunday when is no public transport at all!
One of the best experiences I've had staying at a booking.com lodge. Myrna, the host was an exceptional communicator, everything was timely, professional, and clear. The apartment itself was perfectly decorated, organized, and had a beautiful view of Papeete from the balcony. Additionally, Myrna also provided helpful information about island events going on that we checked out and loved. Highly recommend this place for future stays.
We made our own breakfast, kitchen was so nice and clean and the owner went out of his way to make sure we had , water ,juice , coffee ,tea plus 2 cans of beer for the boys . We were very pleased with the service provided by the owner. He helped as we get into the property and picked us from airport, dropped us to town and picked us again. Can't thank him enough. Best service ever, we are giving five star 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟.
Tahiti was last stop on our trip. Hotel is located short taxi ride from the airport, close to the main centre and really nice promenade.Has a good bus connection but also you can walk to the centre. There is a shopping centre next to it. The hotel has really nice pool area. No access to the beach. Great offer of different trips. The concierge team was really helpful. The rooms are large and clean. Modern design.
great location, free shuttle service to the ferry and airport and the most excellent breakfast for a total steal of a price. We stayed here on our first night on the island and our last night after a week in Moorea. Benny and his staff made everything convenient and the food, ambiance and excellent hospitality were a perfect way to be introduced to Tahiti and bookend our stay on the island.
The family and their employees operating TEA Tahiti Holidays were wonderful; they thought of things ahead of time and took care of them for us. They were very friendly and very helpful. TEA Tahiti Holidays is a short walking distance from many of the places you will want to see while exploring Papeete, and the comfortable room was a relative bargain in the area.
This is an exceptional apartment. My husband and I crashed here after an incredibly late flight into Tahiti. Great proximity to the airport, quiet, and wonderful. Newly renovated with beautiful finishings and a rain style shower. The host is very welcoming and even offered us rides to the airport at additional cost, which we appreciated!!
The owner was really nice! She kindly booked a taxi to the airport for me and prepared breakfast in early morning. The bed room and common area looked lovely. Even though the property is not close to water, just staying in this Tahitian room would be valuable. You need to pay on site but you can use credit cards.
Everyone was very nice. They arranged our transportation from the ferry, to the hotel, then to the airport. The food was very good. Everything was very clean. I would definitely stay here again. The black sand beach was very silky. Beautiful grounds.
The property is a reasonable walk from main shopping area but doable. Supermarket very close and also a Total Service station with Bon Jour shop & coffee. Transfer from port to hotel and then hotel to airport were efficiently arranged.
Location was great, 5-10min walk from Papeete centre. Quiet area and the hotel has a great coffee/cafe 5mins away. Great free wifi access, air con and bathroom facilities was good. We rate it fair value of what you’d pay in Tahiti.
Good location, easy to get to from the airport and perfect for a stop before onward travel. Rooftop bar and restaurant also really nice and walking distance from town market and food trucks
Very beautiful hotel close to the airport. Striking distance to the ferry to the neighboring island of Moorea. Friendly staff. Beautiful pool area. A wonderful Tahitian dream.
The best thing: the location! It is totally in the centre and you can reach it easily from the airport.
If the continous comings and goings don't disturb you it is yr place!
Close to Papeete Centre just a 15 min walk. Very good bathroom and room.
Also a nice bar and restaurant.
The free transfers to and from the Ferry + Airport.
