Seems a nice town, not crazy busy but still quite lively in the downtown area. We ended up having dinner at a very good restaurant (NoJa) that we can definitely recommend. The parts of Mobile that we saw (mostly downtown and midtown) were full of Southern charm with gorgeous oaktree-lined avenues, squares and side streets, and quite a large harbor for cruise ships. We didn't stay long enough to explore in more detail but it all looked interesting.

Go to Gulf Shores, especially around Mardi Gras.
Go to Gulf Shores, especially around Mardi Gras. We spent the same amount for a low-class hotel in Mobile as we would have paid for a hotel or condo at Gulf Shores - in the winter. Gulf Shores has a Mardi Gras parade too. We were injured when entire boxes were tossed into the crowds from the floats in Mobile. In Mobile, prepare to pay $25 for parking during this festive time. Forget Dauphine Island, it's a dump. Gulf Shores has easier parking. I did feel comfortable with the people in Mobile and I did enjoy the historic district. Everything closes up during Mard Gars including the Carnival Museum, which has unusual hours anyway. Even the kids are out of school during this time.

Mobile is a great city, full of historical facts and of course the birth place of Mardi gras! However in town suites was disgusting, roaches crawling on walls, ceilings, ac unit , tub, & sinks. Carpet filthy, power outlets hanging by wires, stovetop filthy, doors were black even though suppose to be white. Staff very rude. BOOKING. COM DOES NOT NEED TO PROMOTE THIS BUSINESS. I HAVE REPORTED IT TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT.

Mobile has a very historic charm that—though I haven’t been there yet—seems to have many parallels to New Orleans! I love the “live oaks” and Magnolia trees that canopy the many old beautiful pieces of architecture here!
We did the tour of the USS Alabama—The Carnival/Mardi Gras Museum—walked Dauphine Street with a stop at George’s Candy, the Cathedral, and the park’s downtown—ate excellent Soul food at Judy’s Place—and did the Bay City Ghost Tour.
We will do an airboat tour on our last day before we have to go home, but I would love to have also seen the history museum, the fort near downtown, and the art museum.
You need atleast 3 full days to get a good taste of the area.
Parking is plentiful in most spots, but you probably want a vehicle to get around. I have lived in large cities before and felt comfortable enough here, but like many large cities, after dark there are some sketchy spots here or there, just don’t act a fool and you’ll be fine.
Loved that the entire hotel was nice and clean. Also had a good, pleasant, and clean smell.
The location was pretty nice. Quiet area - close to the highway. Near the University of South Alabama. Quite a few restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner. The breakfast was excellent - my sons and I thoroughly enjoyed it - definitely the best breakfast experience we’ve had at a hotel in years.
Went to the room and the door slide was locked and maintenance came to open and broke the latch when we got inside the tv didn’t work and the beds were dirty so they moved us to another a little better about 1 .a.m and heavy machinery was out side moving large ship container for the hotel renovation. When we woke up the floor was covered in water and soak all of a luggage bags.
The whole experience was great, the staff was so friendly and the room was ready and met our expectation for accessibility. the only item that was a little inconvenient, there was no working desk to work from. Being in a wheelchair, I would rather have the accessible items be what I need before a working area. We enjoyed the room and hotel.
Angela was amazing at check-in and very helpful throughout our stay. The room was cleaned by Donna and she did an amazing job. The room itself was spacious and just perfect in every way. I will definitely stay here again. This is the third hotel that I have stayed while visiting Mobile for ASMS, and it is the absolute best one!
It's a 50$ a night hotel here in MoBell....mobile +hell= MoBell is my new name for this city since it's definitely inside the 6th circle of hell....
Now for the hotel the lady at the desk was pleasant n when I told her my A/C wasn't working she had dude fixing it 10 min later and it was nice and quiet...good cable channels
Very clean and updated facilities. Staff and management are top notch and very friendly. From the moment you walk in you know you're not at some average hotel. It not only meets but exceeds your expectations. Location is convenient to most things you'd need or want to do in Mobile.
I recommend this place to anyone visiting Mobile, Alabama. The staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The property is clean, well taken care of and the room was very clean. In short it was like HOME AWAY FROM HOME!!
Great. Cute hotel - rooms in separate houses. Very spacious and comfortable with really nice touches. Quality towels and products. Short walk into town.
Enjoyed our welcome drink and great breakfast.
I love everything about this property it is absolutely gorgeous in a great location!! My favorite place to stay in mobile ! Super close to downtown restaurants .
Location and a good hotel experience when we stay at a Hampton Inn. You're in walking distance to several restaurants. Secure parking, though there is a fee.
