The only positives that we noticed were that the room was clean and we liked the cast iron tub. The check-in employee was less than friendly but his wife at least tried to be. Oh and surprisingly the coffee was not too bad.

We were just passing through and looking for a clean comfortable place to get a good night sleep and a decent breakfast before continuing our trip. The room met our expectations but the breakfast was the worst that I've had in a long time. They had a poor selection and didn't have glasses of forks. People were using waffle measuring cups for their drinks. I asked a staff member if she could get us some forks and she was very rude. All she would say is we don't have forks. I would recommend staying here if you don't plan on staying for breakfast. Also, check your credit card to make sure that you are being charged the rate the you agreed on when booking the room. I was overcharged approximately $40. Fortunately, I noticed this and was able to get the charge changed.

The Marriott was very convenient to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, the reason for our visit was my husband’s heart surgery. The restaurant was great and met our dinner needs, but breakfast was too early to take advantage of. I lived in Roanoke 56 years ago, Much had changed, but folks were still friendly and helpful. Thanks Roanoke

We initially came for a three night stay.
We initially came for a three night stay. My husband had a heart attack the first night so he went to the hospital and I stayed for five nights.
They were very helpful and accommodating under the circumstances. They let me move to a larger room when my daughter joined me. Let me add/subtract nights on short notice. Gave me a medical discount . I could not have asked for better support. Thank you . I will stay there whenever we visit Roanoke.

The hotel was very nice and clean, and a great price from Booking.com. Next time we'll plan on adding a day to see some sights and get a good meal.

We live in a nearby town.
We live in a nearby town. And make several trips a week to Roanoke. Often wish we lived there to save the commute (But then we like our own house too much). There is plenty of great food and entertainment in Roanoke. We like Atlanta and Dallas too, but on a smaller scale Roanoke competes well and is WAY WAY WAY less hassle. Pick up a copy of the Roanoker for lots of tips on food and entertainment. We always take guests to the Mill Mountain Star and the Train Museum.

Roanoke has the best of both worlds.
Roanoke has the best of both worlds. You can be downtown and experience wonderful restaurants and boutiques, or you can go up to Mill Mountain and visit a Zoo or the famous Star!! They also have the river so you can do things on the water. There are many trails throughout the city.
Very nice hotel, especially for the price point that was paid. Parking lot felt very secure, hotel felt very secure, nothing sketchy or scary about it. The room was very nice and clean. I especially liked how the room had vinyl flooring instead of carpet, making it better for my dog. We had a problem being overcharged on the pet fee that was immediately corrected and explained by the morning checkout person. The person who checked us in was very friendly. All in all, it was a good stay and especially relieving on a long traveling day.
Just love being there! The holiday trees display from all the organizations in Roanoke is worth the trip. Have not stayed in a few years and the updates are tasteful and still in line with preserving the historical part of the property. We had drinks I and dinner in the circular bar and the ladies working the bar could not have been more friendly. Our room was spacious quiet and comfortable!!! Thanks for a wonderful visit!
Nice location, close to downtown and a big park. Ample covered parking. Spacious, comfortable room.
Best of all were the staff: I had a heart emergency and was admitted to Roanoke Memorial (just across the road!) for 4 days. The hotel staff accommodated my husband’s extended stay and made us very comfortable when I returned to the hotel for a day before we returned home. They really took great care of us!
First of all the staff - Nakita and Dominque were some of the sweetest most helpful people I have ever dealt with at a hotel - and I travel a lot. This was our first time in Roanoke and they both had tons of tips from places to eat to things to do. The room was extremely clean and large. I will definitely recommend this hotel to others and hopefully return one day on another adventure.
Staff at check in and check out very friendly and personable. Room was large and very cleanly. Close location to highway was the reason I booked hotel. Gas station and a place to eat right across the road. Typical continental breakfast with many cold food items. There was a waffle maker for those that like them. As long as there is coffee, I'm happy.
The hotel was very nice with a clean, modern feel. Slept great every night...the bed was firm, which I appreciate. Close to 220, it was just a few miles from downtown Roanoke. Loved the benches and tables located outdoors on the property! The breakfast (in a bag) was simple (sausage/cheese biscuit...danish....water) but filling and convenient.
My room had all the necessities. I liked how close the hotel was to the highway (just down the street). I liked that I was able to walk to downtown in less than 15 minutes from the hotel. The Berglund Center is right across the street from the hotel. I was surprised with a to-go bag when I checked out - that was very thoughtful!
The room was very spacious (big bathroom, big bed, ...). Because of the space, the room felt quite empty and impersonal, but I personally like that a lot for this type of hotels.
WiFi connection was very good.
I also liked sitting in the reception area during the evening to do some work.
I liked everything about the place and the staff. Very clean. Excellent staff. Great amenities. Very safe. Great parking. I couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Close proximity and within walking distance to lots of places. Absolutely recommend this hotel if you are ever in Roanoke.
Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Plenty of off street parking. The Mexican restaurant in the same street is the best Mexican food I have eaten and it was reasonably priced. The breakfast was ok but the guy working in the breakfast room was lovely.
Probably the best B&B I have stayed in. Spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and the breakfast with personalised menu was delicious. Ideal for downtown Roanoke, just a short drive. I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to anyone.
We specifically picked a hotel with a pool so kiddos could have some swim time after a long drive. The pool room was large and clean with plenty of towels stocked only downside was a pool water was a bit cool.
The Breakfast was included and therefore nothing to complain about. The Location was good, you could walk to downtown. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom had a bathtub, which was nice.
Beautiful classic architecture made modern into a hotel! Staff is friendly. The bar is pricey but amazing. Next to an ATM and is walking distance from all things downtown Roanoke. Bathrooms are huge!
Location was great, this hotel was one of the best that we have stayed in during our visits to Roanoke, breakfast was good, pet fee was reasonable, staff was very friendly. Will stay here again
