At first we couldn't find it. But after a phonecall to the number at the bookingreservation, we received the right address. The host was humble, very friendly and we felt really welcome there. We got a little tour on her farm and met her lovely family. Thank you for the great stay. We definitely recommend this place. Greetings Ernst & Laura

Real Omani experience. Saif made us feel so welcome. Showed us around and took us to see the sunset. Made a fire for us in the evening. Traditional Omani breakfast was lovely. Beds and bedding super comfortable.

I've been traveling for more than 10 years, but this is only a 2nd 10 I've given as I don't find a reason why I shouldn't in this case. It's a lovely and very cozy hostel, with everything you need, nice and welcoming host, and a roof from where you can see Jebel Shams and mountains all around. If I could I would have stayed longer here, I enjoyed the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. If I ever come back, I will surely stay here again!

Excellent authentic local atmosphere with cosy rooms. Two levels of balconies atop the house where you can sit and relax. The old town around is an attraction on its own.

Beautiful stay in one of the few renovated old mud houses in Al Hamra. The pictures on booking do not do it justice, the house has been lovingly restored and a real experience to stay in. The room was comfortable but still felt true to its heritage. Lovely roof terrace overlooking the old town and date plantations. The food was excellent.

We had a great stay at Canyon Rest House Jabal Shams with our family and friends. The fireplace and BBQ area were nice, and the kitchen had everything we needed, including a refrigerator and microwave. The three bedrooms and living room were comfortable. Some people at other villas were not friendly, but the owner of this place was very nice. I recommend staying here.

Very well restored house, nice location, in the old part and just next to the palm gardens. The room is cozy, and beautiful and stylish common areas. There is a water boiler to make coffee or tea. Mahmud gave us a very nice tour in the area! Tip: Go for a walk around the hotel and in the Palm gardens. And visit the Bait al Safah museum. It is a beautifully restored old house of a rich family, and they give nice demonstrations of various facts of daily life.

Charming, renovated old house in this mountainside village. The property has been very sympathetically restored and we had a delightful stay. The location within the village was perfect among the terraced gardens, with footpaths winding through. There are clear signs to the hotel from the top of the village. The rooms were comfy with mattresses on the floor as is traditional. They were spotlessly clean. There is a lovely roof top area for dinner and relaxing.
