What an authentic experience !..a very special time was had by myself and my daughter..a lovely jungle set up ..Prashan , the host was so friendly and helpful providing us with teas and coffees and any assistance we needed. Fire lit evening meals which were delicious compliments to the chef.. felt magical next to the river...They provided a private jeep for the next day all day safari package which i highly recommend as we saw nearly all the animals present....from elephants to snakes and then came back to a very comfortable tent with en suite bathroom. We enjoyed an early morning boat ride before we left . The wildlife and birds around the camp were incredible ...would highly recommend as we will definately return

This hotel stay was AMAZING! A little oasis during our safari trips in Udawalawe! The pool was fantastic break from the mid day heat, the restaurant had delicious meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The room was LOVELY; bed was comfortable, and outdoor concept for the bathroom/shower, and the air con could be as cold as you wanted it! Monkeys live on or near the grounds so it was fun to watch them swing through the trees. Staff was so nice and accommodating! Would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay during your safari!

Madu was amazing as host. He made sure that all of the food was suitable for the 5 year old. He also arranged our Safari, which was great as well! We really like the "tents" - which were actually little houses, everything was super clean, and even though it was 35° outside during the day, we did not even need the AC during the night, as the tents are in between trees. We also like the access to the river for a swim in the morning, We definitely recommend to stay there!

The tents are built in a very natural but luxury way and we loved our stay there and would go back again… for sure! The camp is located perfectly to make a safari in the close by udawalawe national park though you can also see lots of animals sitting on the terasse in front of the tent! Erange, the owner is very helpful in organizing trips for you… not to forget to mention the exceptionally delicious food, cooked by Eranges wife! The perfect place for a calm and relaxing stay!!!

We had dinner when we arrive which was delicious, the most delightful hoppers served with dahl and other curries and dishes. We did a sunrise safari and they made us breakfast when we returned which was also incredible. The room was lovely, comfortable, very clean and had the most gorgeous outdoor bathroom. The Mango Tree House is run by a very lovely and helpful couple who also cook excellent meals for their guests! They also organized all the transport and safaris for us. The cabins are gorgeous, set over semi-circular koi ponds in and among the trees, with comfortable beds and well-designed outdoor (private) shower facilities. It was all just magical. The owners are incredibly nice -- very helpful with travel arrangements and other conveniences -- and served the best food we ate all week.
