The Oceanfront Inn is located in Shelter Cove, California, right in the middle of the famous Lost Coast. The area is pristine, beautiful, and remote.

The Oceanfront Inn is 30 miles from the Avenue of the Giants, an amazing 32 mile auto tour viewing California's coastal redwood trees with abundant stops for hiking, picnicking, and stopping in the small towns along the way for shopping and restaurants.

When you leave 101 and drive to Shelter Cove you already could imagine what is coming. Serpentine road going through the mountains and then at some point you can see this amazing hotel standing just on the sea rocks. A coupe of local restaurants, walking distance including a local bar. I would certainly come back one day.

The views were incredible and the room was absolutely beautiful. Lavish. Check-in was super easy and so was check-out. The balcony was my favorite place.

Fantastic view and proximity to the ocean. I appreciate that they allow dogs so that I can stay somewhere close to the water.

We loved The Oceanfront Inn! The jacuzzi in the room was a great respite after a long day of driving. The view is spectacular and we slept with the window cracked for real life ocean sounds. Can’t beat that!

The room was quiet and comfortable, and it had a great view of the ocean and the rocks along the beach. Being able to hear the surf and the seals was nice. I liked that there was a continuous fan available. The innkeeper was very friendly and helpful, and she gave good suggestions on where to hike and where to eat.

I loved the location and that wonderful “hotel smell” when I entered my room! The place was super clean and cozy! Donna, the Innkeeper, was super friendly and very helpful. I could tell that she loved her job and took pride in managing this charming inn. I also was super delighted to see the deer and meet some of the other 4-legged staff that were here as well! This place felt safe and inviting

Oceanfront Inn and Shelter Cover turned out to be the best stop we’ve made so far on our cross country road trip! The place was clean, the atmosphere was incredible, and the view from the balcony is worth every penny. Donna, the innkeeper, was equally amazing. Very welcoming and helpful. We are already trying to figure out how soon we can travel back out here.

It was very clean. Innkeeper was super nice. Its proximity to the ocean, tidepools, and seal rock is amazing. Can't wait to go back, just hoping the restaurant will be open again.

Inn of the Lost Coast provides some of the best views and sounds of this part of the Lost Coast from the safe enclosure of your inviting room. The outdoor hot tub was awesome, whether it was foggy or clear, they kept it at 104 to keep you relaxed and piping hot. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. The outdoor grill was a great bonus, so we could cook. And we liked Lauren, who made us feel right at home, and keeps a good eye on the property.
