Located in Canfranc-Estación, a 3-minute walk from Canfranc Train Station, Canfranc Estación, a Royal Hideaway Hotel - Gran Lujo provides accommodations with a fitness center, private parking, a... An amazing building with fascinating history. Very well converted into a 5-star hotel. Location is quite isolated, Canfranc seems full of locked-up ski rental apartments and little else. The nearest 'proper' city is Zaragoza, 2 hours drive away. The hotel will really come into its own when/if the rail connection with Pau is completed - in 2024? The restaurant was excellent and surprisingly inexpensive - 60€ for 2 courses and a bottle of house wine for 2. Even better, they have a young wine waiter/esse who resembles a young Brigitte Bardot!

It offers great views towards the mountains. Our room had a big terrace with a table and sofa. Excellent swimming pool, clean and refreshing. Must try! Staff was extremely nice and helpful.

They are doing a lot right: really hot water immediately the tap is turned on (and it seems to last and at any time of the day); heat. They have individual thermostats that were still on...it snowed. And the only hotel I've been in in 83 countries which had the magnifying mirror at a height a woman could use...with a vanity stool to assist. My compliments.
