The property is right on lake Myvatn, which is good and bad. When the wind blows you can take nice walks around the lake. And this is a remote place so the hotel was quiet day and night for our visit. The bad news is the the midge flies swarm outside when it’s calm outside. The flies don’t swarm inside the hotel, if they do get inside the window they stay in the window. The restaurant on site is nice, and we loved our included breakfast each day. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Homemade ice cream sold next door is amazing!

An excellent place to stay next to Lake Myvatn. Located close to Hverir geothermal area and Myvatn Nature Baths (well worth a visit). The restaurant here is superb and the buffet breakfast the best we had in Iceland with meats and cheeses etc. from the farm (there is a very strong farm to plate ethic going on here). The room itself was well sized but cozy and warm (it was minus 13 in the morning so this was important!). Plus you can go and pet the cows and calves!

The room was comfortable and really clean. There were shared showers/toilets but the room had a sink inside which was a plus. The breakfast was delicious, with a very nice view of the fields. 20min by car from Lake Myvatn. One can also buy pretty Icelandic sweaters there in a decent price compared to shops in Reykjavik or Akureyri.

Nice location very close to lake Myvatn. Very friendly receptionist, who took her time to explain everything we needed to know. We booked a suite, which was nice and spacious with a bedroom and a sitting room. We had dinner in the garden of Gamli Baerinn, the tavern next door that belongs to the hotel. Nice food and friendly waiters.

Central location at lake Myvatn. Proper rooms with bath and comfortable bed. We were here in August, so there were thousands of flies and mosquitos which dont bite, so its just a little bit stressful when they invade your head. :) Nothing to do with the guesthouse, just consider this at that time of the year.

Comfortable but small room, large en suite bathroom with heated floor. Excellent location for Lake Myvatn - short drive to all key sites including Myvatn baths, Hverir etc. Close to supermarket, petrol station, pizza and more formal restaurants. Easy check-in and check-out with self use codes.

Great restaurant for dinner and a well served breakfast. Hotel decor is stylish and minimal. The hotel setting at Lake Myvatn is beautiful.

We got a corner room with views of Lake Myvatn. Gorgeous! Modern, clean, and very well designed in a lovely hotel.

Mývatn trout and lava bread for breakfast. Location is very central at lake Mývatn.

Great place to hunt for northern lights. Cosy room, although very small. Super hot radiators, which in winter saved our life :). Although the breakfast is in the village, there was a common room opposite our building where there were tables and all necessary kitchen facilities to prepare your own meal or something hot to drink. Very well equipped. We came late at night, the reception was closed, but the room key was left for us plus directions to the room. Breakfast in the village restaurant very nice. The place is right behind the post office (google maps show you a route round the whole village, don't know why).

I was directly surprised by the change. I was here five years ago and the equipment was bad. The renovation is great. Clean rooms, large kitchen and common room. Close to Pizza and restaurants with a farm. Very nice stafs.

Everything was great. We are 2 people so the place was slightly too big for us lol. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was awesome with some fresh milk from the farm. Don't miss out on the ice-cream there, one of the best I've had.
