Hotel in Flåm
Located next to the marina in the scenic town of Flåm, the accommodations includes free WiFi and magnificent views of the Sognefjord. We stayed 2 nights in two separate rooms and it was one of the best hotels we visited in Norway during our 2-week trip. One of the rooms had a kitchen which we clearly liked more in comparison with the other smaller one without kitchen. We particularly liked the lovely staff enthusiastically answering the phone and the fish soup at the restaurant which we ordered twice in a row. The fish main dish was wonderful as well.

We were looking for a place to stay between Flam and Geiranger. We are happy that we went a little out of our way to visit Balestrand and stay at Kringsjå Hotel. After we missed a ferry and called them, they accommodated a late check in. Our room was a clean and comfortable. It had a great view over Sognefjorden, very iconic. Breakfast was very good. There was plenty of parking. Balestrand made for a really pleasant morning walk.
Balestrand
Comfortable, cozy apartment in the heart of Balestrand within 2mins walking distance to Sognefjord! The apartment is fully equipped with everything - kitchen, towels, clean bed linens, a lively living room with dining table, big bathroom and a beautiful front yard! The owner was incredibly kind, responsive and even offered a personal blow dryer on request. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again!
Aurland
Breathtaking view of Sognefjord from our bedroom window at sunrise…. one time life experience. Best spot to start a fjord cruise, to reach Flamban or just drive to Stegastein view point, up on the mountain. You will find a SPAR store or a viking souvenir shop, 2 minutes driving , in Aurland downtown. We had everything we needed for a 2 nights stay.
This hotel with very friendly owners is located at the Sognefjord, close to the ferry. It offers clean rooms, good beds and a breakfast buffet in the morning. It can be used as a stopover hotel, but definitely also as a starting point to explore the region and/or go hiking. Also: try the waffles, they're divine.
Skjolden
Such a cool, old house with lots of places to sit and relax. The whole house carries a lovely vibe. Great cooking facilities. It’s located at the intersection of Sognefjord, Morkridsdalen, and the route towards Lom, which are arguably some of the most beautiful places in Norway. Mara has been amazingly kind and helpful.
The hotel is about a 6-minute walk from the Flam Train Station. The hotel overlooks the Sognefjord and we had excellent views right from the balcony of our room. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. They provided a delicious breakfast. We truly enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed another night.
Balestrand apparently has had two periods of investment: in the 19th century, and in the 1970s. The hotels there are a mix between the two. Some additional brushup would help. This being said, the Midtnes hotel is a welcoming place, with nice views over the Sognefjord.
It was a clean apartment with all the amenities listed. We had a great view of the Sognefjord. The parking was free and large. The breakfast was a buffet with a lot of options. Would definitely come again.
Location was very convenient for sightseeing around the Sognefjord area. Very charming oldie worldly atmosphere. Shops & a restaurant close by. Great for those who want to self cater.
Breathtaking Views. Excellent Location.
One of the best places we have stayed. Beautiful place with an equally amazing set of owners and property managers.
Friendly staff. The scenery is beautiful and the parking is convenient. Breakfast was great.
Nice and clean hotel, very good location, in the center of fjords. Great staff! From day one they helped with anything, including setting up out next stay! We definitely recommend this hotel!
Very friendly and helpfull staff. The restaurant has very good food , where you also can sit outside and enjoy the marvellous view. We sure want to come back and see more of this fasinating lanscape in Solund.
Wonderful place , wonderful people !
The location was excellent! The view in the morning was just unreal. Also, the facilities were very good- the shower was awesome with hot water and good stream, the bed was comfortable. I highly recommend!
We had a beautiful top floor apartment, it was lovely, clean and very comfortable, with a private balcony. Amazing views. Laundry facilities available but it will cost you.
Comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Very peaceful location with beautiful scenery overlooking the valley with river and waterfall. Very friendly and helpful host. Close to tourist attractions (hiking trail to waterfall, Flamsbana, fjord cruise and others). Highly recommended
Beautiful place in a magnificent location. Booked 2 nights but ended up staying 5 nights. The little hut right by the water was superb.
Very charming villa located in a very charming village in Sognefjord. The villa was in general very well kept and executed. It was all the small details that impressed us: comfortable beds, good bathrooms and showers, very clean, good locks on individual rooms, code lock on main entry, high quality kitchen utensils and cutlery for everyone to use. You could really see the villa wasn't cheaply put together to make an extra buck, but that they've really put in the effort. Also the gardens around were amazing, little streams of water and fountains with a lot of flowers and plants here and there, with several sitting groups for people to use. The staff was very friendly especially the French girl who made us eggs and bacon in the morning. Owned by a very nice couple.
