Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Garbage in the hallways for 3 nights I was there. No beds made after each night. Place was not very clean. Last night heard people fighting outside from the bar downstairs.

Being double charged. The very old sink and tub were not really up to my expectations. But the floors were clean and the bed was sufficient for my needs
The room was clean and quiet enough on the third floor. I didn’t mind no elevator. BUT they double charged me and I’ve gotten no response from them on the subject.

House keeping needs a little help or reminder about floor cleaning. Glasses were not very clean even though in paper covering. It is older and nice, but internet/ media info was not accurate. Check in is 4pm not 2pm. Not 24 hr desk staff. Bartender/ desk manager was awesome handling 4 jobs.
Comfy bed, hot water was awesome, hygiene products were good, air conditioner was awesome and pet friendly was appreciated.

TV was a constant challenge. I wish widows opened to get fresh mountain air in. Bath tub and sink show age.
Felt safe. The room was well insulated from the noise downstairs. People were helpful. Decent hideaway and well located. Excellent internet. Excellent hot water/shower.

A Live band played until 2 am.
The Cosmopolitan was exactly what I had expected for the price and location. It had the rooms types we were looking for (there were 5 of us and each of us got our own bed), but there was a live bad playing in the bar downstairs and our room was right above it. The band was supposed to stop playing at 1 am, but played until 2 am. We asked to be moved, but became we had asked for a room with three beds we could not be moved to another room. Once the band stopped playing we had a great sleep as the beds were very comfortable and the bedding was clean. I would stay again.

Noise coming from the bar and often train passing through the town with very loud horn. Couldn't sleep well entire night.
Staff was very friendly and nice. Breakfast was good. Hotel located in the town center and has a bar which was open until late hours.

No coffee, no refrigerator in rooms, Smoking rooms smell came into non smoking rooms
No breakfast, restaurant didn't open up till later, we get up early had to go out for coffee and breakfast.

the beds were very squeaky, the smallest movement would wake you up if you are sensitive to noises. also not the most comfortable of mattress.

Things are a little rough around the edges. But again, I knew by the bargain price not to expect too much.
The price was right and being in such a historic hotel was neat. Had a tasty supper while I relaxed with a beer and watched hockey game in the bar.

Anytime I rent a hotel or motel room I like to see a mini fridge a coffee maker and a microwave.
Very basic room, no fridge microwave or coffee maker, just a very small flat screen TV. No Telephone in room. However it was comfortable clean nice hot shower, and the entire room has been updated nicely.

No coffee for the morning. If not available in room, one would accept easy access somewhere, but no-one around in hotel in the morning and the bakery next doors closed on Sundays. Our room was above the bar and kids really battled to fall asleep due to noise. If you put a family room above a bar it should at least quiet down at 11.

Window coverings and furnitures
Propery is of Old style, head board of bed is of old style and makes big noise when you rest on it. You can hear noise from other rooms too.
