The check in person was not very welcoming.

The Driftwood has seen better days and rooms are not very attractive from the parking lot, but the room was clean and comfortable, with a fridge, coffee machine and clean functional bathroom.

It is a almost historic building, kinda 70’s style structure, cars are parked right outside of your room, that is view we had for 194.00 per night, so late night returners, ie 2:30 in the morning light up your whole room through thin curtains. Walls are thin so, when they proceed to have baths & showers, you hear it. The pictures on line are good marketing but deceptive.

Location was good, beautiful ocean walk close by. Restaurant on site was friendly, kung pao chicken delicious, with a great view of the Salish Sea, right across to Vancouver Island. Close to shops.

The room was very basic- no headboards on bed, so pillows were directly resting on brick wall It was a nice large room but the table located in the kitchen was far too small to be useful

We found hair on the bathroom floor near a rolled up bathmat by the toilet when we arrived. Also, the room door was very hard to open from the outside. The water in Sechelt tastes terrible, would recommend bottled or filtered water.

The room we had was a good size, our friends a few doors down had a smaller room. Being close to Davis Bay was lovely, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable.

The hotel needs to change out the shower curtain. The bottom of it looked either moldy or stained. The room needs a fridge not a wine cooler. It is not cold enough for food.

We liked the location. It is central to shopping and restaurants.

Need to clean behind headboards. There was a layer of dust and used earplugs sitting in plain sight from adjacent bed. Gross.

Great staff and location on water. Pricey for a night and room is a bit dated with a standard room size as others. Might be rather a $200 a night room oppose to a 250.

However, there were issues with cleanliness and broken items in the room. The screen door kept coming off of the track. The desk person told my husband the installers built them wrong. The other sliding glass door did not lock, but the inner one did. The legs were broken off of one night stands and were in its drawer. The desk person came in and said the room cleaner had told him it was one of the stools by the bedswas broken. So he was concerned about that. That's good. But then he remarks that he couldn't understand the person. We said we were fine with it as we weren't going to use that nightstand. It was just weird. It was a pet room which we needed. But it would have been nice if it was cleaner. The main room was clean, but there was hair, etc. Behind & under the beds and nightstands, and weird smears on one wall. There was a very large stand of cobwebs hanging over the bed on the ceiling. Last but not least. There was a mildew smell in the room. Probably because of the mold on the bathroom ceiling and the walls of the tub-shower.

Older building, which is fine. The view was great, easy to get to places in town. It was a nice sized room. There is a really nice trail-walk right outside the room along the water.

The breakfast restaurant was closed due to a shortage of staff so we had to go somewhere else. The receptionist recommended Joe's On The Beach which was on our way not the ferry terminal and we enjoyed a very good breakfast there.

Sadly this hotel feeling the lack of staff, no breakfast available, but there’s a lovely bakery around the corner, got some breakfast came back to hotel eat it on balcony, restaurant making evening meals, best Chinese food had for quite a while,

For whatever reason, the hall light was on the same circuit as the bathroom light and fan, which meant if you got up during the night to use the bathroom, the hall light lit up the entire room. It was either that or use the bathroom in the dark. Should have brought a night light.

The motel is in easy walking distance to great shops and restaurants, and the beach side location was perfect for evening walks.
