Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThere was a lot of noise coming from the room above me on the 3rd floor- they must have had stairs because there was a lot of "clomping' up and down those stairs from the cleaners and the guests. My shower went cold and I kept having to adjust it. Also I was expecting the court yard to have tables and chairs as it did during the last 2 years. But not a big deal. Could you have a "seniors rate"?
I loved the breakfast. Room was good and comfortable. Shower kept going cold- so my room on the main floor was better for that last year. beds in 213 were super and newer than last year on the first floor. I liked being able to get a good table by the window for breakfast. I prefer a room on the sea side rather than the street side. So easy to come and go with the location and it was excellent.

AustraliaWe had a lovely big room at the end of a corridor, staff were very helpful, and they looked after our luggage before we were able to check in and for a couple of hours after we checked out. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. A beautiful old hotel, I would recommend staying here. The seagulls like to sit on the A/c unit outside your window and tap on the window, funniest thing😊

CanadaI did not see an option for gluten free bread. The toaster only warmed the bread, I put it through twice and it didn’t toast it.

IndiaThe WiFi signal was weak throughout my stay for 3 nights. I would suggest the management to look into this. This was the only downside to an otherwise great trip!
The room was pretty big and spacious. The check-in staff was nice and offered me a room with a small patio that had a view of the inner harbour. The breakfast offered a variety of typical North American items. The staff refilled the stations promptly and cleared tables so that most guests did not have to wait long. The early start of the breakfast service helped me to go early and get on with my plans for the day. The location is fantastic as it is within walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, the inner harbour as well as Government Street in downtown Victoria. Would be back here for sure!

CanadaA couple of minor problems. Our room was on the main floor and seemed noisy at times because of footsteps echoing from above and rather noisy pipes. The kitchenette supplies were minimal, just two cups, two glasses etc. But even so we enjoyed our stay very much.
Location is very good. Really comfortable bed and very good breakfast. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful.

CanadaParking could be a challenge when the hotel is full unless you were able to secure and pay the $15 a day rate for a reserved underground parking spot. Unclear if their small outdoor parking lot had a charge as it was not explained on check in just outside or underground. We travel and stay in this area and street and parking lots are very limited so we chose the underground option to avoid any issues with returning later in the day and having to try to find parking. Breakfast room was very pretty but small for the size so there were often wait times to get seated.
Good location near the inner harbour and about midpoint between downtown and Fisherman’s Wharf area. Breakfasts were pleasant and grounds were very well maintained and charming.
